  1. Wasn’t too impressed with the beta performance. My 780 Ti only got 40-50 fps at 1440p, but held a locked 60 at 1080p. Of course, you couldn’t change any graphics options besides resolution & I’m not sure what settings the beta was using. That said, the game wasn’t exactly that good looking even at 1440p, so it sure seemed a little optimized. I’m not expecting to be able to max out games at 1440p with a generation old card, but I can usually hit a pretty constant 60+ fps at high settings (maybe 1 or 2 turned down to medium depending on the game).

    1. there were limited options to turn anything down.on my r9 380x id hit 60fps but it would dip in to the 40fps range.from what i have seen there are alot more options to turn down in the game.they were just locked in beta.

      1. Ya, there’s definitely a lot to tinker with in the options but again we don’t know what everything was set to for the beta.

    2. The game recomend card is 970 not 780 ti. I have GTX 970 G1 GAMING that is faster than a stock 780 ti like yours and worked perfectly 1080/060 max settings in the beta but that because the card is at recomened requirmenets while the 780 ti is below recomend.

  2. With installation sizes becoming this huge, I hope that we can choose to install the single- and multiplayer parts separate of one another. I’m only interested in the single player campaign. If that saves me 10-20GB of space on my SSD, then yes please!

  3. Wasn’t really fond of how the Beta played which means I’ll be grabbing this near the end of the year when it’s quite cheap as I’ll only be playing it for the Campaign.

  4. Am I the only person who finds the requirements for DOOM kind of BS? Both the HD 7870 and GTX 670 are better than whatever GPU is in the PS4 and Xbox One, yet those consoles have no problem running the game at 1080p 60 FPS for the most part, at decent visuals.

I get that people with higher end GPU’s shouldn’t have a problem, but what’s the point of having higher end PC hardware, just to brute force what is essentially achievable with much lesser hardware.

Also what about people with lesser GPU’s like the GTX 660, GTX 750ti, R7 360 and R7 260x, etc. Do these guys just get shafted?

    1. I think it may be dynamic resolution on the consoles, but ya the beta didn’t run all that great.

    2. you have to understand that the console versions wont have a lot, maybe any of the post effects the pc version is getting so hitting 1080/60 wont be as taxing. also the cards you mentioned at the end of your comment are budget cards and cant be expected to be able to run modern games sometimes. kind of like when far cry 4 came out and people with the gtx550 cards complained. it happens, those are cheap cards for a reason. yes theyre still good for a lot of modern games if oyure playing at low settings but dont expect it to play everything well for the next 4 years. honestly a lot of modern AAA titles are using higher min/rec specs so i dont think its BS at all with the way graphics tech is moving.

      1. Not only that, its heterogeneous architecture with unified memory and optimization comes from that can hardly be expected on PC version!
Not to mention both consoles have very efficient low level APIs.

      2. I actually read that somewhere… I was really shocked, to be honest.

    3. GPU is fine, those are pretty old GPUs. But 8core AMD CPU as minimum? I really wanna see how this game uses 8core CPUs then, LOL

    4. GPU progression has pretty much stagnated for a good 2-3 years, especially in the mid-tier department. Also I own that old HD 7870 from 2013 and it served me well up until now. And don’t see a reason to upgrade unless I get twice the performance or more for the same amount of money I paid for my previous GPU. Maybe Polaris or Pascal will finally make me upgrade…

Before I had an ATI HD 5570 for about 3 years, a cheap entry level card that wasn’t even meant for gaming, and I could run games on it just fine, even on demanding games at 720p, with some tweaked settings. Nowadays, an entry level card is out of discussion if you want your games to be even remotely playable.

It just kind of shocks me how GPU requirements have spiked up so much, but not really justifying it. After all, PC isn’t just about framerate and resolution, but also scalability, even in the lower end area. But today, you basically need a mid-tier gaming GPU in order to even be guaranteed to play games acceptable. And it kind of bothers and worries me at the same time.

  5. the trailer perfectly captures doom, well done. Now put that in the boxart not the damn armor.

  6. “Contains a single disc. Download of additional files from Steam (total amount 45 GB) is required to run the game.”

    45GB download. Dayyyum….

Probably going to be another Mortal Kombat X story. Install 200MB, Download 35+ GB
