Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is one of the first games that Microsoft brought to the PC in order to show its support to our platform, and below you can find some comparison screenshots between the game’s Max and Lowest settings. Max images are on the left, whereas Lowest images are on the right. As always, we strongly suggest opening the images in new tabs in order to see easier the differences. Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Hot damn. This is a pretty big change. This is how i usually imagine the low gfx in most games. I wonder if i can play the game on low settings with a GTX 770.. i know its not a recommended card but then again… it should be fine for 1080p.
The highest settings are from the XBONE. A GTX 770 runs laps around the Xbone. You’re wondering if you can run this touched up decade old game on LOW settings? What???
Yeah but this port isn’t even decent. MS try their best to make you believe the Xbone is better than a mid range GPU.
For sure fixed platform better than mid range pc gpu. Also because of that minimum 75% of gamers play on consoles.
Actually the majority of gamers now play on mobile and PC, with consoles being in 3rd place now in terms of overall users and global revenue.
Actually that’s objectively false. There are more people in this world that play on mobile phones as well as PC and then consoles at the bottom.
Look at the min system req’s. 🙂 They even claim i wont be able to run it. I know what the Xbox one and 360 were. Still, MS claims how you need a much higher GPU just to be able to run it. So yeah.
Those blurred no detail in textures are so bad it’s almost like they are set up like that just to make the game look like a huge improvement on PC on Ultra. Yet the game looks pretty much on par with a Xbox1 version on Ultra settings which is really WTF. But they figure the avg PC gamer does not have a Xbox1 so how would they no any better…
Don’t be fooled by low Quality. The only Advantage the PC version has over console is higher resolution and fps. Other then that it’s a straight up console port.
I agree i think it would be better to buy the old port at least it runs right and no windows store nonsense
Plus you get the original vision, by the original Game Director, this “remaster” is closer to a remake, & a very “artistic liberties” heavy one at that.
Game is bad because looks not better than console version? All fanboys are evil but pc gamers like you are so arragant, much worse than cosole gamers.
Nah mate, you’re the worst of the lot here.
You should take a look in the nearest mirror and get the shock of your life then.
Can’t you link to the images directly? All it takes is an “i.” at the start and a “.jpg” at the end. By simply right clicking -> view image and using that link instead you would save every single reader the time to do that for every picture.
As for the comparison: The difference in textures has a huge impact in the foreground but at a distance it’s irrelevant. The only difference you’d notice in motion is the fifth image where the rubble geometry looks completely different and those grass sprites are shaded differently for some reason. Frankly if they used the high res textures ONLY up close and fixed that rubble and grass up you wouldn’t notice the difference between low and highest in motion. Standard console port.
low settings looks worse than vanilla GoW. Just pick up the old game which runs much better and is available in more platforms.
Looks like DX12 game have a good graphical scaling, but AA really need a proper implementation.
Is this a PS3 game? It looks fracking awful.
Yes
It looks worse than Gears 2. They should have simply remastered it, using the same graphics improvements used in Gears 3 or Judgment.
They debated re-doing everything in Unreal 4, but basically decided it was too much work, so instead they just “updated” the old 2006 version of Unreal 3 Epic Games used to make this, & threw a DX12 wrapper on it so they had an excuse to lock it to Windows 10.
no its a 360 game. poted to xb1. ported to pc. everyone knows gerof war is microsoft title. “ps3” nice trolling kiddo.
What are you babbling about? Take some remedial English classes. Your writing is incomprehensible.
“No it’s a 360 game, ported to Xbox One, ported to PC. Everyone knows Gears of War is a Microsoft title. “PS3″ nice trolling kiddo.”
Internet Sarcasm…… ^^
Did they remove GFWL from the original Gears of war? or they didnt do it on purpose?
cuz the original ran and looked better than the low setting of ultimate edition
More Broken & Shi*tier the game is, more news it gets.
wow… no way. some of those lows look worse than 360 version….
looks like a low vs low comparison
