Bethesda’s Todd Howard has revealed that the company is currently working on three new longer-term projects that will be in many ways different than anything the team has ever done. While Howard did not reveal any additional information about these projects, he did say that they will retain Bethesda’s style, meaning that they will be big and crazy.
As Todd Howard said:
“We have three longer-term projects we’re doing that are all…we’ll talk about them at a much future date. But they’re different than anything we’ve done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy. But in many ways different than things we’ve done before.”
It will be interesting to see what Bethesda has in store for us, and whether it will finally move away from the Creation Engine. Yes, the Creation Engine is very friendly to mods, however Bethesda needs to up its game.
Since Fallout 4 was kept secret for a long, long time, we don’t expect to hear anything about these three projects anytime soon. Our guess is that a new Elder Scrolls game is definitely under development for current-gen platforms, though nothing is certain at this point. Moreover, could Prey 2 be under development in secret?
Bethesda will hold its second-ever E3 briefing this June, so stay tuned for more!

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

What… a finished game?
haha, good one!
yeah they’re working on a fighting game
Will they have Radiant AI™? Infinite quests? Mountains you can climb? Will they “just work”?
They should try erotic visual novels. The genre usually doesn’t require good writing and powerful engine, as well as good 3D and animations. Can’t think of anything else that will utilize Bethesda current talents at their full potential.
Even that requires halfway decent writing. Erotic crayon drawings with 3rd grade level art would be perfect for them though.
“(…) while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy.”
And buggy Todd, don’t forget buggy.
And unoptimized, don’t forget that too Todd.
I hope that one of these long-term projects include a new game engine.
Can’t wait for a consolized TES:VI with a four choice yes, no, question, sarcasm wheel.
There won’t be any choices in dialogues in TES:VI, just straightforward cinematic experience in a world even smaller than Fallout 4.
If Bethesda did that, they would be TR-8R’s. Eh Nines? Eh?
They already are.
I hopehopehope they’re working on a VR-exclusive game. Anything in that realm by Bethesda would be a dream experience for me.
The Bethesda that made good games has been dead for a long time now.
i just hope its not episode story games.give me elder scrolls 6 already will you.
I really hope they use a new engine.
My expectations are high as the ocean-bed.
I can’t wait for them to make another reskinned The Elder Scrolls, and call it a different game.
prey 2 rage 2
Hopefully one will be a VR game.
Is it bad that I’ve always found Bethesda overrated?
no episode games unless its elder scrolls episode games.,,,,,just give me elder scrolls 6 already
