Bethesda Is Working On Three Longer-term Projects, “different than anything we’ve done before”

Bethesda’s Todd Howard has revealed that the company is currently working on three new longer-term projects that will be in many ways different than anything the team has ever done. While Howard did not reveal any additional information about these projects, he did say that they will retain Bethesda’s style, meaning that they will be big and crazy.

As Todd Howard said:

“We have three longer-term projects we’re doing that are all…we’ll talk about them at a much future date. But they’re different than anything we’ve done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy. But in many ways different than things we’ve done before.”

It will be interesting to see what Bethesda has in store for us, and whether it will finally move away from the Creation Engine. Yes, the Creation Engine is very friendly to mods, however Bethesda needs to up its game.

Since Fallout 4 was kept secret for a long, long time, we don’t expect to hear anything about these three projects anytime soon. Our guess is that a new Elder Scrolls game is definitely under development for current-gen platforms, though nothing is certain at this point. Moreover, could Prey 2 be under development in secret?

Bethesda will hold its second-ever E3 briefing this June, so stay tuned for more!

  1. They should try erotic visual novels. The genre usually doesn’t require good writing and powerful engine, as well as good 3D and animations. Can’t think of anything else that will utilize Bethesda current talents at their full potential.

    1. Even that requires halfway decent writing. Erotic crayon drawings with 3rd grade level art would be perfect for them though.

    1. There won’t be any choices in dialogues in TES:VI, just straightforward cinematic experience in a world even smaller than Fallout 4.

  2. I hopehopehope they’re working on a VR-exclusive game. Anything in that realm by Bethesda would be a dream experience for me.
