Last month, we informed you about some games that were supposedly leaked via Steam’s database. One of them was the PS4 exclusive title, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. And while a lot of gamers thought that this entry was a leftover (from when the game was developed for the PC, prior to Sony grabbing this title), this entry was recently updated, indicating that the game will indeed find its way to the PC.
As we can see, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture Steam listing was updated yesterday with a banner image.
Now while this should make it crystal clear that TheChineseRoom’s walking simulator is coming indeed to the PC, we’re marking this story as a rumour (until we get an official confirmation). Still, Steam’s database rarely lies when it comes to things like these.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Since the ip is owned by Sony. This could be the second title to published by them on Steam.
Which means it’s only a matter of time before we’ll see the Uncharted and God of War series on Steam. Yes, something to look forward too! 😉
“Matter of one decade or one century”, I guess
I wouldn’t go that far just yet; Bloodborne seems like the best bet to get a bigger budget title published by Sony on PC, taking into account how well the Dark Souls games have done on the platform so far.
Debatable. We don’t even have PS4 Transfers for anything but God of War 3 yet. PC would be at least a few years out still.
I’d really like to see The Last Of Us on PC.
Sony don’t see PC as a competitor. The console and PC market totally different to them. They are only concerned with their rival consoles. So it’s highly unlikely but still not out of the realms of possibility.
Cant downvote this enough!!!
God of war + 2 is already on PC.
Everybody’s gone to the Steam.
YES!
Nice!
hahaahhha
Is this another pretentious walking simulator?
Walking Simulator 2016.
Flight simulator many years ago,Tower simulator last year, walking simulator this year, Must be swimming simulator next year!
I’m honestly surprised that this game was first released as a Playstation exclusive, especially considering The Chinese Room’s first title started out as a HL2 mod before finally being fleshed out in to a standalone title. I loved the atmosphere of Dear Esther, the soundtrack is truly haunting.
Around the time that Dear Esther received its standalone release I had been in touch with their Composer, Jessica Curry asking her what she thought about the game because Dear Esther would not be the same without its soundtrack. Her response was essentially that The Chinese Room wanted to create a different type of game, one that you can buy for £6 – 10 that can be completed in 3 – 4 hours just like buying a ticket to see a movie. She said they wanted to do this because games immerse you in a story better than movies do. In a movie if the hero is running and jumps for a ladder it doesn’t quite have the same effect as if the same scene done in a game but with the player in control. When this is done in a game you rise out of your seat a little as the hero soars through the air.
I’ll be keeping my eye on this one for now, solely because I have had great experiences with previous titles by The Chinese Room.
The guys are complete d**ches in my book. They sold 800k copies of Dear Esther, and then said they don’t have money to make their next project. Moreover, they said Rapture will be a PS4 exclusive and won’t come to PC. And now this.
Not that I had a great time with Dear Esther to begin with. The game is absolutely pointless. As far as I know no one was able to understand and properly explain its plot (I mean everything, not just basics), because it’s impossible. Even developers said they won’t answer (which means they probably don’t even understand what they did).
Basically you have a game with beautiful appearance, and completely hollow inside. Arthouse without meaning. And for the appearance, as far as I know, we should thank the Mirror’s Edge designer, which isn’t even a part of Chinese Room (he’s at Valve now).
They probably needed to buy food and pay rent, By that I mean caviar and wine every night while staying in some luxury penthouse suite, So the money runs out quick! lol
Jokes aside, I know that game development can be very expensive, but you don’t have to be a b*tch. The guys got access to Sony resources, got help from Santa Monica, and instantly forgot from where they came from (PC modding scene).
Yeah I was incredibly shocked to see a developer like them who came from the PC modding scene, then work on an Amnesia title to then release a game exclusive to the PS4. I doubt it’s because they didn’t have the budget. What likely happened is that Sony made them a nice offer and they took it for a larger budget and some spending money. Lots of developers have done this throughout gaming history and it makes me sad every time it happens. Bungie originally made games for Mac until Microsoft bought the rights to Halo. I had hoped once they went solo they would produce another great PC title but they produced Destiny, which in my opinion was complete trash (to be fair I haven’t played the Taken King).
As far as Dear Esther’s story is concerned, like many authors the writers chose ambiguity for this story so that the reader/player can create their own theories to what is really going on. I have a theory that explains every “flashback” and scene, but it’d be too long to type in this comments section.
at first i kept thinking this game was somehow related to bioshock. i guess not…
Nothing to be excited about here as its indeed a walking simulator, you walk around and listen to audio files and then the game ends, no wonder why I have seen it on so many worst of 2015 games lists.
i think this is a timed exclusive. when microsoft did it everyone curse them. when sony did it, it’s fine. talking about double standards and fanboys mentality
