Crytek has just revealed a new VR game, called The Climb. The Climb aims to bring alive the excitement and thrill of rock climbing in incredible virtual reality. In order to celebrate this announcement, Crytek released a teaser trailer for this brand new game that can be viewed below.
According to its description, in The Climb, Players will scale new heights and explore stunning environments in a new gaming experience developed excclusively for VR, using the power of CRYENGINE.
The Climb will be made available exclusively for the Oculus Rift, compatible with both the Xbox One controller and the forthcoming Oculus Touch.
The game will boast hyper-realistic climbing locations from around the world, and players will discover the freedom of gaming with the Rift using either an Xbox One controller or Oculus Touch controllers as they soak up their awe-inspiring surroundings.
Oculus Head of Worldwide Studios, Jason Rubin said:
“Crytek is renowned for leveraging their CRYENGINE tech to create beautiful, immersive games. Their early VR demos really captured public imagination, and to see their ideas come to life with Rift is incredible and not to be missed. The Climb is a beautiful combination of art and thrill that’s bringing an entirely new level of adventure gaming to Rift.”
Founder, CEO & President of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, added:
“Gaming has always given us the opportunity to place ourselves in otherwise impossible scenarios, and VR technology such as the Rift makes us feel present in those scenarios like never before. The Climb invites players to experience the intensity of one of the world’s most dangerous sports, and they’ll truly feel the thrill of being thousands of meters above the ground with nothing but their skill and a few precarious handholds to rely on.”
Enjoy!

The hell were they thinking?
Oculus…Facebook…Crytek near broke….Money
I see this being a nice experience in VR, although thats all i think its going to be. In terms of being a game it wont really do much for anybody but hell i’d like a go with it if i had a vr headset.
Another gimmick from Crytek.
Looks like a game by Ubisoft.
Sounds like a tech demo :v
Its from Crytek so ofcourse its a tech demo!
I see what you did there, lol.
Looks like a Far Cry game… sad how its just a stupid climbing game -_-
I like how the environments are better than crysis. Maybe you should have made those levels instead of the trash we got.
Man Crytek is really dead. Urgh…
lol the butt hurt in this thread…geez
Thread? Spending too much time on forums eh?
😛
Not butthurt, it’s caring about Crytek’s future :).
They will go bankrupt if they keep doing this kind of games.
put on an oculus and say that i dare you….
I’d like to try out Rift and I’m excited about it as well. That being said, I’d rather spend $400 on something more versatile, like a better GPU or monitor.
I think many people have this mindset, too, and Crytek making such eccentric games may end up kicking the bucket.
gpu and monitor is the number 1 place to put $ on your PC for a gamer ofc 😀
100% it would get boring after 10min of gameplay
Father, forgive
them, for they do not know what they are doing-
Luke 23:34
damn that The Climb logo is amazing
Did none of you guys play Kreedz Climbing mod for HL2? It was pretty fun, if done right this game can also be pretty fun. Its was basically a time trials kinda game. I tried to recreate something similar to Kreedz Climbin in Sandbox for Crysis, but couldnt get the scripts working. There’s nothing wrong with making a small game that’s just for fun, but I get it its Crytek so you guys want yet another shooter, right?
Fat nerds in this thread too lazy to even go virtual climbing…
uplay crap
crappy download speed
why ubisoft ? bad luck for me ?
English…?
It’s not a bad speed, either you are trolling or have an attention deficit.
Is it really a big difference, a game downloading in 2 or 4 minutes?
