Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Kickstarter Campaign Has Just Been Launched

Larian Studios has just launched the Kickstarter camaign for Divinity: Original Sin 2. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a single and multiplayer top-down, party-based role-playing game with pen & paper RPG-like levels of freedom. It features turn-based combat, a strong focus on systematic gameplay and a well-grounded narrative.

Larian Studios aims to raise $500K in the next 34 days, a goal that will be most probably reached within the next few days.

In Divinity: Original Sin 2, players will pick a single character and determine your starting stats, race, and origin story. Players will also be able to recruit up to three companions, each of whom is just as detailed as the character you’re playing, with their own origin story and motivation to help you in your quest.

As Larian Studios noted, Divinity: Original Sin’s combat system was one of its most beloved features and the development on Divinity: Original Sin 2 will focus on maintaining everything that made its predecessor so much fun, while still adding new types of tactical opportunities and challenges.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is currently in development for PC in English. Subtitles will be available in German, French, and Russian. Other platforms and languages may be announced at a later stage, once development is more advanced.

Last but not least, in multiplayer, up to 4 players can play together, either cooperatively or competitively.

Enjoy!

  1. These guys only fund their games with kickstarter? Jesus. I don’t understand what’s all the hype about turn-strategy. I prefer playing a game of chess. Real chess.

    1. Unless chess has a backstory for every pawn, you can equip them, and you get to make life altering decisions before they are put in the battlefield, and can make me cry when a pawn dies leaving behind his newly wedded wife, and when he loses the war the enimies take over the area and the wife is raped and killed. Unless it motivates me to truly win the war due to the devastation it causes, and unless chess has a meaning for the life of every character on the board.

I will pick a turn based rpg over chess anyday.

      1. Chess is older than your grand grand mommy. And it’s a noble game for spirited minds, whereas this crap is just a virtual trend for kiddies. Just remember that, lad.

If I were in your shoes, with that kind of imagination I would’ve created sth, instead of running around in other peoples “ideas”.

        1. No, these guys fund their games themselves. Out of their 7 proper games, only 2 went through Kickstarter but just to gather additional funds to expand them.

There really isn’t any ‘hype’ for turn-based RPGs, on the contrary. Don’t know where you read that. And apparently you never played one.

And I like chess, but it has nothing to do with video games. This is a video game website, edgydium.

          1. Dude I’ve played divinity and uninstalled it in the first 20mins. Where do you think turn based games came from? Seriously, just leave it as is.

          1. DUDE you should stop gaming because chess is just simply much better than any strategy game.

          2. I know right? Games don’t have strategy that chess have, therefore chess is sooooooo superior and totally comparable to video games.

  2. I hope I can romance my companion again like in original sin, it felt so cliché when the game ended and my characters were like psycho obsessive couple, I loved it.

The co-op side of things, while it looks cool, I really doubt its going to be fun. I hope you guys have a strong single-player too.
