Futuremark has released the first application test via which PC users can measure the performance differences between DirectX 12, DirectX 11 and AMD’s Mantle API. Via this test, PC users can get an idea of the benefits they’ll be getting – on their particular PC system – from the CPU-side improvements of DirectX 12.
3DMark’s API Overhead Feature Test is available now in the latest version of 3DMark Advanced Edition and 3DMark Professional Edition.
As Futuremark noted:
“The 3DMark API Overhead feature test measures API performance by making a steadily increasing number of draw calls. The result of the test is the maximum number of draw calls per second achieved by each API before the frame rate drops below 30 fps.”
This DX12 application test requires an up-to-date version of Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 10041 or later), 4 GB of system memory, and DirectX feature level 11_0 compatible hardware with at least at least 1 GB of graphics memory.
Enjoy!

I thought they killed mantle ?
They did!
Mantle is now a part of the upcoming Vulcan (openGL) API!
and MS DX12.2 and 12.3 only GCN FL -> he he Mantle was ignition for stoned industry 😀
Now AC:U on DX12.x can fly like a falcon through the skies -_-
by the way the Mantle will be utilised in some AMD Games Evolved Titles:
BF H, StarWars BF, Mirrors Edge 2 and New NFS (will be Underground 2 successor 😉
On AMD GE program: more than 20 titles AA and AAA in production.
So finally we Have Our Next-GEN.
MANTLE has 16,6x more than DX11 ST/MT
All GCN should support DX12 with resource binding tier 3. But feature levels will be confirmed yet in the near future.
AMD did not, microsoft did.
