Descent: Underground – Descent Reboot – Gets Kickstarter Campaign

Descendent Studios has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new Descent title called Descent: Underground. Descent: Underground will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, will pack multiple types of customizable ships, will feature upgradable weapons and sensors with richly-detailed tech trees, and will offer destructible voxel maps with new power-ups.

In addition, the team promised to release mod tools for its title so that players can create their own maps.

Descendent Studios aims to raise $600K in total (so far it has raised $130K) and has 30 days left in order to hit that goal.

Here are some of the game’s key features:

  • Six-Degrees-Of-Freedom Action – fly and fry foes while zipping in and out of the dizzying confines of asteroids
  • Balanced First-Person Ship Combat and Resource Gathering – choose from eight unique ship types, each one showcasing a different play style
  • A Twenty-First Century Update – Unreal Engine 4 , top-flight graphics, rich design, and a modern twist on Descent’s classic multiplayer modes
  • Go Home a Hero – annihilate your opponents, gather desperately needed resources, bring home the bacon

Enjoy!

  1. If they were focusing on single player first instead of multiplayer they would rake in a lot more money. Also it’s kind of strange to look at the team credits and realize none of them were involved with the original series.

  2. Hey, that’s the dude that worked on Star Citizen. I guess that’s why he stopped making Wingman’s Hangar.

Anyway, if the levels look like the one featured in the video then count me in. I’m thinking all those stalactites are too good to be true, though.
