Unreal Engine 4-powered Space Hulk: Deathwing Gets New Trailer

Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for the first person Unreal Engine 4-powered Space Hulk game, Space Hulk: Deathwing, giving us some glimpses of the game’s first environments as Terminators and Genestealers come alive and clash together in a deadly struggle.

Space Hulk: Deathwing? is a First-Person Shooter experience of Games Workshop?s classic Space Hulk boardgame set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000, developed on Unreal Engine 4 by Streum On Studio, the team behind E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy. Published by Focus Home Interactive and co-produced by Cyanide Studio, Space Hulk: Deathwing aims to offer players the chance to experience a desperate battle against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk, as they will gain skills, new abilities and new equipment thanks to experience earned during perilous missions.

“Space Hulks drift along the currents of the Warp, the immaterial dimension of Chaos. Made up of gigantic mangled asteroids, derelict ship wrecks and other spatial debris, they sometimes grow to the size of a moon and often contain treasured and ancient lost technologies. However, they are ripe with danger including infestations of the lethal Genestealers.”

Players take on the role of a Space Marine from one of the most secret and most feared Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels.

“Strap on your Terminator armour and equip the emblematic weaponry of the Space Marines to overcome the threats awaiting you in the Space Hulk. As a Librarian, you will also master the destructive powers of the Psykers. Your skills and performance in battle grant you Fervor Points, to spend on 4 skill trees allowing you to improve your abilities, unlock new powers, access powerful relics and devastating new weapons.”

Enjoy!

  1. PLEASE, by the Emperor, no multiplayer crap. Can we just get a good story game? Please?

Oh, and not like Evolve. To pay $60 for the demo is just stupid (the full game costs $215,55).

      1. My precious POS4? Did you mean PS4? If so, why do you say that? I’m a proud PC Mustard Race user. You shoot in so many directions at the same time that you forgot to check your feet 😀

          1. Must be. I use it as “John Doe”. Just a nobody online 😀
But there are plenty of Johns around 😀
And how dare you imply I would use a tricycle when I have a Ferrari? 😀

  2. I’m interested. E.Y.E.:DM is great, so hoping they achieve something great with this series/universe too.

Just one thing, the name is Space Hulk:Deatwing, it has a sword with dark wings and a skull in it, put some heavy metal in the trailer ffs. >_<

    1. Plenty of bugs and it became repetitive, but it was really good. I couldn’t help but think how good would it have been if they had more resources….I guess we’re about to find out 🙂

And as for the heavy metal, it would be predictable…. the biggest crime you could make in a trailer…. apparently :/

      1. Predictable? I agree, but things are what they are.
The music isn’t bad (if that’s the style you like), but it’s like everybody today have this sense of being alternative just for the sake of being alternative.

It’s like watching a BrutalDoom trailer with gangsta rap.

      2. They could use classical or noise music. Rap just doesn’t go well with anything that isn’t contemporary and urban themed.

        1. I’m not defending it. I just don’t feel I am competent in the area to the point of saying what they should have done or not 🙂

  3. Looks cool. Lets hope it isnt a broken, buggy, unplayable mess for over a year like e.y.e was and in some cases still is.

  4. Am I the only one that just enjoys gameplay trailers for games? CG is so meh to me, unless I’m watching a CG Manga/Anime.

    1. I like ’em both. I enjoy watching CG for intros and outros. And I enjoy watching in-game cutscenes while playing so it doesn’t break the immersion.

  5. That music… smh. It’s supposed to be Warhammer 40k, not Nacho Libre. Two Steps From Hell would have been better.

    1. Graphics are easier on this since they can cull much of the visual effects due to the abundance of shadows. Besides, this is a CG trailer, not representative of the in-game graphics.
