Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Slightly Delayed On The PC, Now Coming On March 30th

Koei Tecmo has announced that the PC version of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round has been delayed and is now scheduled for a March 30th release. That’s one month and days after the console release that is currently planned for a February 20th release.

Here is what Koei Tecmo had to say about this delay:

“In order to provide you with the best experience possible, the expected release date for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on Steam has been changed from Feb. 17 to March 30. In appreciation for your patience, we’ll be offering the Halloween 2013 Set (28 costumes) free of charge to all users who purchase Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on Steam.”

Do note that even Dead or Alive 5: Last Round PC has been delayed, it will still not support online play at its time of release. Koei Tecmo claimed that a future patch will bring online functionality to it, that will hit Steam within 3 months of release.

Kudos to Videogamer for reporting the news and ‘Sikandar Ali’ for informing us!

  1. Was looking forward to this but I’d rather they make sure it’s a solid port and delay than release sooner with a shoddy port.

  2. Well, looking at this news on SRK, console kids are just too happy, because they are commenting “no nude mods for now”, just stupid. USFIV and SFXT nude mods are barely 0,5% of the total mods or reskins for those games, but jealous kids insist that the all the mods are nude mods. Well you cant expect nothing better for someone that just get mad when a Fighting game comes to PC.

  3. oh damn, another delay in 2015 and we are just starting 2015. one s**t port called dying light (already delayed several times), five delays (ravens cry-witcher-gta-batman and now this)

    1. Judging from the Steam reviews, Dying Light seems to be very good in terms of performance. Don’t know whether it’s a port or not though.

      1. From what I gather, its notorious for AMD systems. When you run the game, it chugs 1 core for some reason. But if you disable the core through task manager and re-enable it, the load gets divided evenly (not tested, I don’t plan to ‘demo’ the game, its worth buying, it has LAN).

Not sure if my HD4600 will run it lol.

        1. Yeah most people on AMD systems are critical of the performance. I think you’re gonna have a hard time running it on an HD4600!

      2. judging by steam reviews, ACU is a hell of a game with no problem at all. i suggest that you watch jim sterling or TB’s videos about the port. game just ran like s**t on top end PCs. it’s 60fps most of the time but it stutters and have some weird drops to mid 20s on cards like 980 or even 2x 980s even on medium distance quality

        1. “judging by steam reviews, ACU is a hell of a game with no problem at all”

What? AC:U on Steam has only a 49% positive rating out of around 6500 reviews. Dying Light on the other hand has a 87% positive rating out of around 2500 reviews. I don’t see where you found AC:U to be one hell of a game as far as Steam ratings are concerned. Either way, I’m not debating the game’s performance since I haven’t played it. I’m just saying a lot of folks are apparently running the game fine on Steam from what I’ve read. The majority of AMD users are complaining however.

          1. “I don’t see where you found AC:U to be one hell of a game”
near 3000 positive reviews for a broken game. thats my point, which means reviews specially user reviews are full of s**t

“a lot of folks are apparently running the game fine”
lots of them can’t even tell the difference between 20fps to 60fps, because of that i told you to watch TB’s video. we have performance analysis right here you can read and soon DF will post theirs.

“First impressions suggest a demanding title that seems to be
CPU-limited, making it rather difficult to hit 60fps without dropping
the distance slider down a great deal, but we’ll have the full story
            later this week.”

          2. 3000 postive reviews are insignificant in comparison to the total number of reviews of AC:U on Steam. If some people are completely fine with the game, I don’t see where the problem is for them. Same case with Dying Light; some people are running it fine (maybe due to awesome rigs, I dunno) and some aren’t. But like I said, the “majority” of people recommend Dying Light, while the “majority” of people don’t recommend AC:U. Therefore, I don’t find the idea that people can’t tell the difference between 20 and 60 on Steam is valid. Because majority of gamers who bought Dying Light on Steam are PC gamers. This of course, may be contradictory to some other reviewers like TB and JS. You can’t say that a game is completely s*it if you get these conflicting reviews, and that’s fine… not every review has to be the same.

          3. “You can’t say that a game is completely s*it if you get these conflicting reviews”
actually i can, because it is, many of those people are ok with stuttering and frame drops.

and yes, people on steam write positive reviews for broken games all the time. DayZ: 107k reviews 90k positive reviews

          4. “actually i can, because it is, many of those people are ok with stuttering and frame drops.”

            — You’re telling me people are recommending the game even after paying almost 60 bucks and not being able to play it? I find that hard to believe. Like someone else said, the stuttering reduces with lowered view distances. Hence the game performs well with some visual sacrifices at the moment. I won’t call that a s*it game. Just because a game doesn’t run at 60fps on Ultra all the time doesn’t mean it is entirely bad (though of course, you are entitled to your own opinion). Tweaking settings to fit a gamer’s needs is what’s PC gaming is about. Though Techland might fix that in the upcoming patch.

“and yes, people on steam write positive reviews for broken games all the time. DayZ: 107k reviews 90k positive reviews”

            — DayZ is in Early Access and far from complete. It says right on the store page not to buy the game unless you’re interested in helping with development. The people who gave it positive reviews are already aware of the shortcomings of an Early Access game. That’s how the whole Early Access deal works.

          5. i know what your saying but:

“I won’t call that a s*it game. Just because a game doesn’t run at 60fps on Ultra all the time doesn’t mean it is entirely bad”
ACU is 60fps with a gtx 970 or 980 on ultra but this game can’t maintain 60fps with those cards and with better CPUs as well. it’s called as bad as ACU (if not worst) in my book with worst visuals. also if you set view distance on 0% still you go to 40fps alot and stutters after an hour or so, like FC4’s memory leak problems.

“DayZ is in Early Access and far from complete”
it wont be a complete game ever, people love this game no matter what, they also attack the people who have negative reviews. and no those people are not aware, they are just fanboys who defend the game in it’s current state no matter what.

PS: People love zombies/survival games and space games, and these topics have it’s own fanboys which don’t care about anything but the topic itself

          6. “ACU is 60fps with a gtx 970 or 980 on ultra but this game can’t maintain 60fps with those cards and with better CPUs as well.”

            — Is that so? I’ll have to check some benchmarks then. But it’s very strange, considering a higher percentage of people have given Dying Light positive reviews compared to AC:U. It’s very unlikely that they all have cards stronger than 970s and 980s or are running SLI.

“it wont be a complete game ever, people love this game no matter what, they also attack the people who have negative reviews.”

            — I think the release date is set for 2016. And I really don’t know about DayZ fanboys attacking others, since I myself haven’t played the game. Either way I’ll wait till 2016 before considering DayZ as a proper full-priced game.

  4. Sounds like they are really working on the online netcode more then expected. Since this game is not even Graphic demanding at all. Or maybe they want to optimize it very well for various hardware to start some good competition with other Japanese Developer’s since Kojima productions did so well on PC with Metal Gear GZ

  5. Bad decision but better than nothing. This is first game in the series for PC if I’m not mistaken. If sales are good, the next entry will be released simultaneously for sure. And most devs are happy with PC sales these days.

    1. Nop. game will be released with single player.. but it will receive online mode after game released date…

  6. Game delayed but still without online play. What exactly is best experience being worked on here for the delay? Sounds alot more that the game purposely delayed because some corporations paid them which is standard practice in the industry
