Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes – First Direct Feed 1080p PC Screenshots Unveiled

This week, Konami showcased the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and today NVIDIA’s Andrew Burnes has shared with us the first direct feed screenshots from it. As Andrew told us, the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes won’t support any specific NVIDIA graphics features (other than SLI support). NVIDIA has also shared the official PC graphical features of MGS: GZ (though you should already know about them if you are regular here). Those interested can also check our previous article in which we shared an image of the game’s PC options. Enjoy the images after the jump!

  1. “Ground Zeroes won’t support any specific NVIDIA graphics features”

Sony paid money, PC version can’t be miles better than PS4. No no no.

    1. Better in what? Crappy Physx? Or maybe blurry TXAA, Barely noticable HBAO? No, thanks, better add proper tesselation.

      1. HBAO+ is quite well noticeable! And better than old HBAO. But it is not the best AO (but it is always very subjective as every game will have different implementation). TXAA is basically MSAA + post process AA (nothing new and it is very blurry – It is the most blurry AA).

        1. And it will cost too much power. It is not worth it. No moving objects in games (all objects are nailed to the floor) that uses physx.

      2. Physx looks superb done well. 3D vision is excellent, I have this and for 3D vision enabled games is blows your mind.

Nvidia’s control panel is far superior to AMD’s, for example, it’s a piece of cake to implement adaptive vsync on most games which is gold for maintaining a stutter free experience at 60FPS if your hardware can’t quite always keep it there locked.

HBAO+ is great quality and relatively low cost. Nvidia drivers are generally superior. Just the latest example is the far lower CPU overhead Nvidia cards demand in COD Advanced warfare leading to considerably better performance with lesser CPUs.

Nvidia hardware usually costs a bit more but for the features it’s also usually worth it

Look at the Play Time Statistics, might surprise you.

      1. I don’t mind and don’t see it as a cash grab, albeit with me being a heavy fan. Gameplay time converted to Cash, equates to what we can perceive as a proper investment, which is subjective, in my mind. I got enough time out of it to make it feel like I “Got my moneys’ worth”, others may not run into the same boat or Non-fans. It’s really a game that was made just for the fans that are impatient and wanted a taste of what’s to come. Cashgrab or even if it somehow was 0% a cashgrab. If it helps fund PP then I especially don’t mind, it is a gigantic leap in sandbox games in my mind with the amount of detail Kojima is trying to achieve with his perfectionism. Only Rockstar and GTA’s stellar franchise could compare and they have mountains of years of experience.

That and, GZ to me isn’t a waste of time since everything you do there converts to PP, all the soldiers I recruited and all the bonuses I found, secrets and the like will transfer over. Especially the Sniper and the Spotter mission, if you don’t kill them and instead recruit them, I’m curious how they as a unique identity will make their place in your mother base in PP as they were heralded as legendary soldiers themselves, but ‘retired’.

        1. Yer, they lowered it by $10 and there’s also pre-order/launch goodies for the ‘loyal members’ who bought it apparently. (Retail only) where the Konami Core code supposedly gives you something beneficial, unsure if it’s a unique weapon or mother base staff, but the konami vault tells me to return to the site when PP launches to get it. Wherein it used to say ‘Come back in Q1 2015’ then they removed that as a date window.

    3. What’s the bet some the settings will be locked to PS4 defaults like Watch_Dogs and Far Cry 4 because Sony demanded it.

      Quite high I presume.

  2. Some of the textures look very low res, like the truck in the second screen. Also the first screen has a lot of aliasing, too bad no Nvidia features will be included because TXAA would clean up that mess.

    1. It’s a last gen console game ported onto the new consoles and THEN ported half assed onto PC. You can’t expect them to overhaul all the textures and reflection effects etc to use superior PC performance.

Well you can, but you would be sadly mistaken if you think it would ever happen lol. This is konami we are talking about here….

    1. Damn….that cant be next-gen graphics…maybe PS3…ROFL!

Theres grass in the rock! lmao!

A real improved version of MGS GZ…theres a bunch more objects in…

  3. too bad this game’s assets and geometry are being hindered so bad by last gen consoles. The game could have looked so much better than this… And you can bet 90% of the sales are gonna be on PS4, Xbone and PC anyway, so producing a PS3 and X360 version is just a waste of money and time anyway.

    1. I think PC users should be happy they are even getting the game although I can’t really name a single game exclusive to PC that looks and is as incredible as MGS PP is going to be. Not really sure what you mean by “hindered” either. Its not like games made exclusively for PC use mind blowing next gen animations or anything. Hell there is nothing on PC to date that even beats the walk cycle of Nathan Drake from the first Uncharted game. There is more to graphics than res and textures, you do know that right?

      1. I can name a bunch of game exclusive to PC that looks incredible:

        Star Citizen
        Elite: Dangerous
        Vanishment Carter!
        Life is Feudal: Your Own
        Forest,
        Mordheim: City of the Damned
        DayZ
        Rust
        Assetto Corsa
        Next Car Game: Wreckfest
        Interstellar Marines

      2. “here is nothing on PC to date that even beats the walk cycle of Nathan Drake from the first Uncharted game.”

Do you take drugs or something? Crysis came out on the same year and destroyed uncharted.

  4. Its so great that this game is coming to PC now. I have a friend who is an Xbot and he can’t stop going on about how he can’t wait for MGS V on PC now. Of course when Ground Zeroes launched on Xbone at 720p he wanted nothing to do with the franchise but now its just fine.
Kind of the same thing alot of people did when it was rumored the PS4 was going to be vastly more powerful than Xbone.

    1. No one cares about the failurestation 4 here except to laugh at it and it’s marketers.

      Shill elsewhere, Sony marketer.

    2. piss4 might be better but it still runs subpar the 750 ti a 120$ right now gpu runs any game better than piss4.

      so much for sony.

  5. Of topic but when john will do far cry 4 pc performance test from what I read the game isn’t optimized well on gtx 600 700
even amd 7870 beat gtx 680

  6. It probably doesn’t have any specific Nvidia only API’s due to both major consoles are running 7870’s (PS4) and 7770’s (XBO.) It would be extra dev time for one release that would only support a portion of the market of said release. It’s all about $$.
