Our reader ‘Jon Jun’ has informed us about Vane; a open-world adventure game that was announced during this year’s TGS and is coming firstly on the PC. Vane is being developed by Friend & Foe; an independent game developer founded in 2014 by five artists & programmers.
Vane is a single-player game being developed by a few ex-members of The Last Guardian team. The game focuses on unraveling the mysteries of an unknown land via exploration, puzzle-solving and other features yet to be revealed, in an atmospheric and powerful setting.
Although there is no release date as of yet, you can view below its debut trailer.
Enjoy!

this originally got announced back in June 2014 if i remember correct.
Looking foward to play/see this, the “Team Ico” works are on my “Top 3” so if some of the guys working on this have already worked on the previous things I’m interested.
Or they could be new guys, who worked only on the last guardian. A game that was never released. That’s a great recomendation. Or they could be guys who delivered pizza nad coffee for team Ico.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Ico and SOTC, and this teaser looks interesting, but words like “from the creators of …” shouldn’t mean crap until we see real names and their roles in previous projects.
Oh, I totally get what you mean, but the artstyle on this trailer already gave me some feelings of familiarity, so at least I feel… “comfortable” (for the lack of a better adjective).
Let’s hope that gameplay and everything else will be just as good.
Neat. I like the polygons-as-art look. I wish more games had that.
exactly
That is quite an interesting way of using polygons. The low poly shapes for smoke, particles and such is brilliant!

looks beautiful but I don’t like puzzle 🙁
but still I think i’ll play this one 🙂
Trying too hard to resemble Journey. Sure, the art style is intriguing and stuff but you’re a strange looking character moving over desert dunes and strange architecture and you can fly? Come on.
Looks a bit like Journey, Anyway thats good its coming to PC.
Praise the sun…
