Transverse Is The New Sci-Fi Flight-Based MMORPG From Piranha Games, Powered By Unreal Engine 4

Piranha Games today revealed a galactic flight-based MMORPG set in a persistent, distant sector of the galaxy where industry, science and combat shape humanity’s interstellar progression, called Transverse.

Transverse aims to offer incredibly detailed ship and station construction, massive solar-system-wide player events and real-time, physics-based combat. In addition, a fluctuating, real-time economy fueled by industry will drive trade in a dynamic resource ecosystem, and player-generated contracts and missions can shift the balance of power at any given moment.

Basically, this sounds a lot like Star Citizen, doesn’t it? Oh well. Guess space combat MMORPGs are the new cool toys these days.

Ironically, Piranha Games has launched a crowd-funding campaign similar to the one of Star Citizen. I mean… seriously… that’s hilarious.

Transverse is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and is currently planned for a 2015 release.

Enjoy and here is hoping that Piranha Games will keep supporting MechWarrior Online.

  1. Beware! Apparently they disabled comments on their youtube video and aren’t taking skepticism toward their game very well. I would wait a couple of weeks before pledging to this game, I really don’t trust Piranha Games ATM.

  2. I backed MWO for all they offered from the start till the Clans. It is my most played game. But this is a joke for them to even attempt.

I am Citizen 50k in Star Citizen and that’s enough for me as far as space games go. This game won’t see me in it if it even gets made.

I like MWO and that’s enough from PGI.

  3. So
    Star Citizen
    Elite: Dangerous
    No Man’s Sky
    Age of Ascent
    EVE: Valkyrie
    Dreadnaught
    Enemy Starfighter

    Eterium

Space ship dogfighting really is the new hotness
