TOXIKK – PC Exclusive Classic Arena FPS – Will Let You Host Matches For Free Now

Reakktor Studios has announced that all those who purchase its upcoming PC exclusive classic arena FPS, TOXIKK, will be able to host matches via the game’s Clan Admin Privileges. Originally, this feature was planned as a purchasable extra feature but after a backlash from the community, the team decided to offer it for free to everyone who owns the game.

“The CAP feature package (being able to host dedicated server(s), host online and LAN-games, and access to the game’s Clan Admin Tools) will be available to everyone, with EVERY copy of Toxikk purchased!”

Inspired by the big shooters from the late 90s and early 2ks, the sci-fi/near-future themed game plays as if today’s military shooters never existed: There is no leveling, no regenerating health, no perks, no cover systems, no classes, no configurable weapons and no iron sight aiming.

Instead you get fast and precise movement (with deeply configurable mouse controls), double jumps, dodge jumps, booster pick-ups, nine iconic weapons to be carried around simultaneously, secondary fire modes for every weapon, vehicular game modes, jump pads, health-packs, lots of vertical gameplay, optional mutators (incl. instagib) and everything else that made these kind of games so addictive. The game also features a configurable BOT-MODE to let you train your skills offline.

TOXIKK is exclusively designed for PC and scheduled to launch via Early Access in Q4/2014.

Enjoy!

  1. On my radar for sure. Just strange that they chose not to show continuous gameplay. The short snippets they showed say very little about the flow of the game. I’m guessing their animations for double/dodge jumps etc. aren’t finalized so it doesn’t look the way they intend for. Graphics and map layout was all there so that’s the only reason I can imagine.

  2. Yeah but people nowdays doesnt want fast old-school FPS multiplayer, they want damn slow games like HALO on PC. This looks good, hope some people start to play games on PC instead of waiting for recycled console titles for PC.
