If you want to play more but feel like there is nothing new get falskaar if you haven’t already. I have like 10 hours in and I haven’t even gotten in to the cities yet. As good as skyrim and the area is huge for a mod, good voice acting and detailed enviroments.
Just get Gothic 3 with the community patch and buy it from GOG, you’ll soon forget Skyrim and realise how bad it is.

No, no no no no no. Its a charming little game, Gothic, but really, you lose your right to complain about Skyrim’s development, engine, and general state on release when you pull the’ “Get Gothic 3, its better!” card.
Nobody does bugs and glitches like PB, nobody. Not even Bethesda. And at least Bethesda actually tries to fix bugs, (whether they succeed is another matter). But PB drop support almost instantly, leaving ridiculous glitches in their games.
Seriously, “broken” isn’t an aspect of the design. Boars spamming KD and killing you no matter how high of a level you were, is not praise worthy or challenging, its broken.
And yet you can kill a bear, wolfs and a dragon in the first hour of the game in Skyrim with no skill. As for glitches and performance, yes it ‘was’ bad but really no difference to the community fixing the game with unofficial patches, Gothic 3 CP added features and graphical upgrades as well as loads of bug fixes.
But really it’s about the core game and Gothic 3 is so much better than the dumbed down for 12 year old’s because they wanted a wider audience TES Skyrim, that had pointing arrows everywhere for people who can’t play RPGs or can’t be bothered to read quests.
The skill tree is laughable as well, 20% more damage, 40% more damage, 60% more damage.

The “original” looks crap anyway, Bethsda had to cut so many corners to make it run on the XBox360 and it ran like crap on the PS3. We PC users had to mod it to fix there game as usual.
They said a lot of things that wasn’t true, like I’ve said all along. They had around 90 people working on the game for 5 years using the same engine and couldn’t fix simple bugs and then had the balls to call Gamebryo engine a new engine called Creation Engine, not.

Yes it needs to because the game is so shallow to the point you shouldn’t even bother doing the main quest line because the best part of the game is exploring, not going into the towns over and over again to listen to the people’s repetitive rambing that you’ve heard 50 times already.
Tbh, I’m totally okay with that. I have 200 hours on Skyrim and still haven’t beaten it. But I love it! I just wish there was more to explore, I’ve gone about everywhere at this point. How about a procedurally generated Elder Scrolls or Fallout game?

I’m at a lost here, what’s so unrealistic about their anatomy? I’ve seen women with better body at the gym. If anything picture 5 and 16 is the one with mess up anatomy, one have gigantic hands with no wrists to speak of and the other is a mess up looking arm. The game was created for the XBox360 as primary, that’s why PC users had to mod it so much, the correction kit *cough, sorry* Creation Kit is there so PC gamers can make a better game than Bethesda did and Bethesda know it, just like Gabe from Valve admitted about their games. Bethesda admitted they took inspiration from PC modders and mods for Skyrim.

Good character models and textures don’t require much power to run, textures basically only need VRAM. Also these all are staged and planned, there is no in-game moment. I can run skyrim with mods, ENB, SMAA in 1080p at 40-60fps with GTX 670.
Indeed, the people that say such things about 10fps clearly haven’t used such mods and it’s really only the extreme bullshots that are unplayable, but they admit they’re downsampled.

Nah. I only got a mid-end rig (really old CPU too) and I get 20-30 FPS with all the effects of RealVision ENB at max outdoors. ENBs aren’t really that demanding

Skyrim is really dumbed down but you can make it much harder and realistic. I dont want a pure rpg experience from skyrim, I want to immerse myself in the world. For the first playthrough I would like something harder than ‘find a thing, it’s exactly over there’ though.
Don’t get me wrong, it great exploring in the game, it;s just a shame you have to follow the main quest to start the dragon attacks and go through the initial scripted sequence. Mind you, it’s like Obllvion with the gates. You see with Gothic 3 you don’t have that, you just do anything you like, not having to do scriped events to make thing happen in the world dictated by the main story
I don’t see doing a couple of main quest missions at first being a bad thing especially in a game that huge.
I watched some reviews of Gothic 3 and it seems like a basic fantasy RPG made by some small studio. 63 on metacritic is simply bad, that score because of a ton of bugs, glitches and bad combat that all ruin realism and immersion to the game. Broken and unfinished were some words used too. Also with todays standards it looks terrible, I can’t immerse myself in a game world that outdated Before 2010 it may have looked great/ok and with nostalgia it may be enjoyable even today.

Hmm those screenshots look rather good actually. I wondered if people had modded it and apparently that’s the case. One of the main issues with immersion was that there were too many moments etc that broke any feel of immersion. Glitches, bugs, rather ridiculous combat. I believe some of the problems have been fixed by the community.
