Polycount’s members ‘juniez’ and ‘Disting’ have been working hard on their latest maps based on Mirror’s Edge and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, respectively. These two maps have been created in Unreal Engine 4 and the latest images show what this engine is capable of. Mirror’s Edge’s map has been overhauled with a new lighting system and some gorgeous reflections, while DE: HR’s map can be easily mistaken for an old CG photo. Unreal Engine 4 looks sexy and we can’t wait to see what triple-A developers will be able to achieve with it. Until then, enjoy the images!

Totaly insane, it really seems this engine is a wonder. Mayeb it can put Cryengine to shame 🙂
CRY ENGINE… CRY!!!
Isn’t the current version of cryengine already like 3 years old? There has been updates but not like a whole new cryengine, or will they even do it that way anymore?
UE4 isn’t the whole new engine either, that is why you can’t tell the difference between Arkham Knight (latest UE3) and these screenshots (earliest UE4).
Oh okay
Hopefully UE4 won’t have that nasty stuttering.
I think a lot of UE3’s issues related to the old consoles. They didn’t have much ram so it was constantly trying to stream in resources, hence the stuttering and pop-in. Developers often didn’t adjust the PC versions’ configs so we’d end up with the same issues for no good reason >.<
That does make sense because I did notice quite a bit of pop-in in the games.
I really didn’t like the UE3 and its monochromatic look and pink dying fire and “dark” lights, but now I am falling in love with this UE4.1.
I really only saw that as a problem in early UE3 games, and mostly because developers stuck with the default “UT3/Gears” style visual settings. Dungeon Defenders is one of my favorite UE3 games and it looks nothing like other titles using the engine.
I thought it was supposedly be called Deus Ex: Universe
Oh my – that first one is just gorgeous. It’ll probably be another 3 years before we see games that look like that.
Wont have to wait that long Star Citizen is out next year.
