Deep Silver has announced that Metro 2039 will launch on February 4, 2027. The game was originally planned for a 2026 release. However, in June 2026, the publisher announced that the game would be delayed until February 2027. Now, we finally have a fixed release date.
4A Games has also shared a new gameplay trailer for it. The trailer showcases The Stranger exploring a ruined apartment block in post-apocalyptic Moscow, highlighting the raw gameplay, environmental detail, kinetic combat, and the technological advances that have been made to the 4A Engine since 2019’s METRO Exodus.
In Metro 2039, players will journey into the dark heart of post-apocalyptic Moscow in a harrowing conflict for the very soul of the Metro. They will also assume the role of a Stranger who has to face a fanatical Spartan known as Hunter.
According to the devs, players will experience the most shocking METRO adventure yet in a powerful single-player story that weaves exploration, survival, combat, and stealth across a hauntingly beautiful but deadly world with unparalleled immersion.
Deep Silver and 4A Games will reveal more tech details about Metro 2039 in the coming months.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
