Fromsoftserve’s PC Remaster project for Bloodborne is one of the best mods you can get for this PS4-only game. However, it appears that another one has just appeared online. So, let’s take a look at it.
BB Reborne is a complete visual overhaul that changes textures, lighting, and material properties across the entire game, including the DLC and Chalice Dungeons. The goal was to make each area/time feel distinct, memorable, and worth rediscovering.
Going into more details, the mod upscales all map textures to 2X and optimizes texture mipmaps and LODs. It also adds high/normal-map improvements and parallax occlusion mapping to all possible surfaces.
Moreover, BB Reborne reworks global illumination, player lighting, point lights, and emissive sprites. It replaces low-detail assets with higher-detail versions, and it fixes some mesh holes, as well as some floating/clipping objects.
And that’s not all. The mod increases some foliage density. It also includes a custom ReShade preset with RTX ambient occlusion, extra anti-aliasing, and film grain. Plus, it reworks HUD element positions.
Personally, I’m a big fan of fromsoftserve’s PC remaster mod. However, that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be alternatives. So, if you were not satisfied with fromsoftserve’s approach, you can give this other remaster mod a try.
You can go ahead and download BB Reborne from this link. Do note that you will need 23GB of free disk space to install it. The modder also recommends having 32GB of RAM and a GPU with 16 GB of VRAM.
Speaking of Bloodborne, here are two other cool mods for it. The first one is Bloodborne Magnus Opus. Bloodborne Magnus Opus is a project that aims to restore content that was cut from the game. The second is a first-person mod. By using it, you can play Bloodborne in first-person mode. This is a cool way to replay the game if you have already finished it.
Another cool mod is HardBorne. HardBorne aims to make Bloodborne significantly more challenging. This is for those who have already mastered the vanilla version.
All of these mods, alongside the PC Remaster Mods, can be used on PC via the shadPS4 emulator.
Have fun!
