Modder ‘nopoPak’ has just released the first HD Texture Pack for Pearl Abyss’ latest single-player game, Crimson Desert. This pack aims to improve the quality of some of the outdoor stone ground textures in Hernand.
To get ahead of you, no. This pack does not cover anything else. It does not improve the landscape textures, trees, or buildings. It only covers the outdoor stone ground textures in Hernand. Nevertheless, this is a good start for future HD Texture Packs.
Going into even more details, the mod only includes cobblestone, flagstone, gravel, and base soil textures. These are mainly seen in Hernand region locations, but they are reused in various other places.
According to the modder, the vanilla textures were missing a few ambient occlusion (AO) maps. The new modded textures have them. Some textures are almost identical to the originals as they were created from the same base asset. When that wasn’t possible, the modder recreated the other textures in the same style with improved detail.
All in all, this is a small but cool HD Texture Pack for Crimson Desert. If you are currently playing it, I suggest downloading and using it. After all, it’s only 66MB in size. You can download it from here.
To showcase the visual improvements, nopoPak has also shared some comparison screenshots. As we can see, the new modded textures look sharper and more detailed. And, since Crimson Desert can look a bit blurry at times, this is a cool mod to have. At least in my opinion.
For owners of high-end GPUs, I also suggest using this mod. This mod aims to reduce the LOD pop-in issues that plagued the game. It also adds grass shadows, making scenes look more realistic and less flat.
Another cool mod is the character creator mod. This lets you build your own character by using the barber. It includes 98 face presets and 159 hairstyles for females. It also includes almost all the males. Plus, it supports the human, Orc, and Goblin races. You can download it from here.
