Crimson Desert is one of the most anticipated games of 2026. And, earlier this week, Pearl Abyss provided Digital Foundry with some new in-engine footage for it and revealed some early PC performance numbers. So, let’s dive in.
Pearl Abyss has used an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D with 32GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX. The team has also used the game’s Ultra Settings, and they had Ray Tracing enabled. And, according to DF, most of the footage was running at 60FPS.
Alex from DF has also confirmed the Ray Tracing features the game will have. So, from the looks of it, Crimson Desert will have ray-traced reflections and ray-traced diffuse Global Illumination.
The fact that the game runs with 60FPS and with Ray Tracing on an AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX at Native 4K should bode well for most PC gamers. If this is anything to go by, we can assume that it will run smoothly on a wide range of PCs. Obviously, we’ll have to test it ourselves. Still, these early PC performance numbers are positive.
The Ultra Settings do not appear to be the game’s Max Settings. It appears that we’ll also get some Ultimate Settings for high-end GPUs. So, the game could look even better than what we see in this latest video from DF.
Crimson Desert will come with some cool tech features. For instance, it will have realistic water effects thanks to FFT Ocean simulation and Shallow Water simulation. These will enable realistic waves, currents, and ripples. The game will also have Volumetric Fog with fluid simulation, as well as GPU-based cloth and hair simulation. On top of that, players will be able to interact with the vegetation/grass. Plus, there will be some cool wind effects.
As I’ve reported last month, Crimson Desert will be the second game to support AMD FSR Redstone. To be more precise, it will support AMD FSR Redstone Upscaling, ML Frame Generation, and Ray Regeneration.
Pearl Abyss plans to release Crimson Desert on March 19th. The game will support DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Gen at launch. Oh, and you can find its official PC requirements here.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
