NVIDIA GeForce 591.44 WHQL Adds RTX 50 Series Support for 32-Bit GPU-Accelerated PhysX Games

One of the biggest complaints about the NVIDIA RTX-50 series GPUs was the lack of support for the 32-bit GPU-accelerated PhysX games. And, from the looks of it, NVIDIA has heard all of us loud and clear.

Today, NVIDIA released the NVIDIA GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver. This driver will enable the full performance on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, in line with the existing PhysX support on prior-generation GPUs.

This means that right now, you will be able to enjoy Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham City, Mafia 2, Mirror’s Edge, and more in their full PhysX glory. Do note, though, that Batman: Arkham Asylum is not supported yet. NVIDIA will add support for it in 2026 via another driver.

The NVIDIA GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver also fixes a number of bugs. For instance, it fixes some stability issues in Battlefield 6. It also resolves some text distortion issues in Counter-Strike 2. Black Myth: Wukong will now run better. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will also display all of its particles on the NVIDIA RTX 50 series GPUs.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will no longer become dim over time. Madden 26 will be more stable as the driver resolves some crashes that could occur in it. Some weird, random corruption issues on the main character’s sword in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been fixed. Plus, it packs the performance improvements for Win11 users that were introduced with its previous hotfix.

You can go ahead and download the NVIDIA GeForce 591.44 WHQL driver from this link. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, be sure to check it out.

Support For Select, Classic, 32-Bit GPU-Accelerated PhysX Games

GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs launched at the beginning of the year, alongside the phasing out of 32-bit support for CUDA. This meant that PhysX effects in a number of older, yet beloved games were not GPU-accelerated on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.

We heard the feedback from the community, and with the launch of our new driver today, we are adding custom support for GeForce gamers’ most played PhysX-accelerated games, enabling full performance on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, in line with our existing PhysX support on prior-generation GPUs.

By installing our new GeForce Game Ready Driver, the full GPU-accelerated PhysX experience can now be enjoyed in:

  • Alice: Madness Returns
  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Batman: Arkham Origins
  • Borderlands 2
  • Mafia II
  • Metro 2033
  • Metro: Last Light
  • Mirror’s Edge

Support for Batman: Arkham Asylum is planned to be added in the first part of 2026.
