EA and DICE have just released a free-to-play battle royale mode for Battlefield 6, called Battlefield REDSEC. Battlefield REDSEC allows 100 players to duke it out in one big map. Powered by Frostbite Engine, I’ve decided to test this new mode on my main gaming PC. So, let’s dive in.
For our benchmarks, I used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and the NVIDIA RTX 5090. I also used Windows 10 64-bit and the GeForce 581.57 driver.
Battlefield REDSEC has the exact same graphics settings as BF6. So, I don’t go into more details about them. The game also supports Intel XeSS, AMD FSR 4.0, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with MFG.
Since this is an online-only mode, it was quite difficult to benchmark it. This is why we don’t have any other GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD. Still, I believe these results will give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
At Native 1080p with Overkill Settings, I was getting a minimum of 164FPS and an average of 175FPS. Upping the resolution to 1440p resulted at a minimum of 136FPS and an average of 143FPS. Finally, at Native 4K/Overkill, we were getting framerates over 80FPS at all times.
DLSS 4 and MFG work like a charm in Battlefield REDSEC. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, the DLSS 4 MFG implementation is among the best we’ve seen so far. In the following video, you can see the game running at Native 4K with DLAA and MFG X4. I could not really feel the extra input latency of MFG. Nevertheless, I still believe it’s best to use DLSS 4 Quality Mode at 4K instead. This will increase your in-game performance, and it will lower your input latency.
In case you’re wondering, no. The game does not suffer from any stutters. Like Battlefield 6, Battlefield REDSEC runs silky smooth. This is a game that a lot of people will enjoy, mainly because of how smooth everything feels and runs. So, kudos to the devs.
And there you have it. Battlefield REDSEC runs about the same as BF6. In fact, it can be even less demanding than some MP modes, where you could destroy large areas. So, if your PC can run BF6, you’ll have no problem enjoying this battle royale mode too.
Enjoy!

Good to see they didn`t shoot themselves in the head this time around and didn`t make the battle royale mode pay to play.
Hopefully some people will try BF in this mode and buy the full game later to play the conquest mode 🙂
The new Gauntlet/mini tournament modes feels super fresh. The maps doesn't feel congested and good squad coordination pays off.
The contrast to the congested CQ maps in the base game feels huge to the ones added in REDSEC, anyone else feels the same?
lol bro posting mfg numbers in an online-only first person shooter. like come on.
Protip – don't use DLAA or any of the trash temporal-based AA solutions the game provides. Instead, use FXAA (via NVCP or Reshade) combined with a touch of smoothness (via NVCP or Reshade).
I thought my adhd was bad, you're less perceptive than me and totally don't pay attention to anything. I heard you're supposed to take medication for adhd at a young age but I never did and never going to
Always super helpfull to see a benchmark made with a PC that not more than 1% of the playerbase has.
