Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases next week, and according to reports, the PC version will be locked at 60FPS. This info comes from a number of PC reviews that hit the Internet earlier today.
The good news here is that MGS Delta: Snake Eater is powered by Unreal Engine 5. So, in theory, we should be able to unlock the framerate via the Engine.ini file. It should be relatively easy to do this. Unless Konami has encrypted the game’s config.
I haven’t played it yet, but from what I heard, the game also has traversal stutters on all platforms. So, I just hope these traversal stutters are closer to those of Mafia: The Old Country, and not to what we saw in Oblivion Remastered.
In February 2024, Konami also shared the game’s official PC system requirements. According to them, PC gamers will at least need an Intel i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super. The game will also require 100GB of free disk space.
Since I haven’t played it yet, I can’t comment on the PC performance. From what I heard, the game struggles on consoles. None of the current-gen consoles is able to run it with 60FPS. Even the PS5 Pro drops to mid-40s in the jungle areas.
As I’ve already said, the Steam store page does not list Denuvo. I don’t know, though, whether Konami will add it at the last minute or not. Silent Hill 2 Remake came out without it. So, fingers crossed that MGSD: SE will not have it, too.
Konami will release Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on August 28th. However, the game will be priced at 79 euros. Yup, this is one of the few games that will cost 80 euros. Konami is going all in with that high price as Silent Hill f will also be priced at 80 euros.
Given the performance issues that the game has on all platforms, it will not surprise me if some decide to sail on the high seas just so that they can test it. After all, there isn’t any demo to try. So, I guess the PC sales will be really low. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Stay tuned for more!

I came here today to see if you got a performance report, but it seems not even that many PC outlets got a review copy.
Certainly sparks a lot of confidence in this port!
Why couldn't they have just used the FOX engine instead?
Ask Kojima !!!!!???? Maybe Kojima still hold the IP of the engine, he still use it in Death stranding 2 …….that prooves that he is the legit owner of the engine not Konami , anyway . Konami got squat !!!!
Both Death Stranding 1 and 2 use Decima (which was developed by $oyny's Guerrilla Gaymes) and not Fox Engine. The last game that used Fox Engine was PES 2020 which was released 2 months before DS1 on September 2019.
Thanx … i was wrong but still MGS 5 used Fox Engine !! anyway fox engine was a great engine though better than sh##y UE5 !!!
Yes. Fox Engine is better than sh##y UE5 that made almost all new games LOOK the same graphically.
GFYS !!!
AFAIK the team behind the FOX engine was mostly Kojima's team, when he left many of them left as well to form Kojima productions meaning Konami was probably left with only a few devs to maintain it for their PES titles.
The FOX engine was great but it would also be like 10 years old at this point.
You are aware that the Decima engine used on Kojima latest games is even older right ? If the engine was still being supported being 10yo would be totally fine.
"If the engine was still being supported being 10yo would be totally fine."
But it wasn't, that was literally my point.
Decima has been getting upgrades that entire time, where FOX was nearly abandoned when Kojima got fired and most of his team left shortly after.
UE5 = 100$ a month over seas labor and thats why all of them are ugly unoptimized garbage
They all are, specially Indians and Jews.

i said something negative against UE5, and this jeet saar is upset :)))
The Japs themselves are locked @ 60 fps ???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is unreal engine we can only hope it goes to 60, and stays there
i would say 30fps locked with 6900XT
Seeing a game using UE5 is an immediate turnoff.
Stellsr Blade runs great
Stellsr Blade on UE4
it is? looks good thou
It runs great!
Couldn't they use decima engine which looks and runs superb? jesus christ im sick of UE5
UE5 = 💩 we agreed John Papadopoulos ?
Lol ue5 is such a mess
" However, the game will be priced at 79 euros. Yup, this is one of the few games that will cost 80 euros. "
Are these people legitimately insane?
In my country the full Digital Deluxe edition costs $36.99, guess it won't sting as much trying this on my 5080 laptop
@disqus_bsMYbspoOk:disqus go back to hole that you crawled from, this isn't wccftech
DigitalFoundry didn't mention seeing traversal stutters in their video but they did show it running like absolute garbage while dropping down as low as 720p on PS5 as well as having issues with improper frame pacing.
"The good news here is that MGS Delta: Snake Eater is powered by Unreal Engine 5"
What's the definition of the BAD NEWS then?
Seems like your birth certificate is an apology letter from a condom factory for producing such a fine species of a beta baboon.
I also noticed this on one of events. They give us 180Hz monitors with game locked to 60.
What of the staff members said, the game is locked to 60fps just like original game, anything above 60 and game animation, logic etc. freaks out.
Lossless frame gen to 180 Hz. Should look fine for a 3rd person game.
It's Unreal Engine. It's the most easily modded thing ever and it's not like this is an old game engine with the physics tied to 60.
Now whether it runs well over 60 will depend if you have shader compilation before gameplay and if you can turn off any RT that Unreal can't handle for sh@^ cus it's already awful on CPU threading. The best Unreal experience is usually locked at close to 60 anyways cus the lows always head towards there even without RT.
"The good news here is that MGS Delta: Snake Eater is powered by Unreal Engine 5. "
LOL. UE5 is always bad news.
He meant that in relation to tweaking that is possible in unreal engine games via ini files.

Take everything, give nothing back.
You made another account just for me, so sweet.
Oy vey
MGSV gave hope that devs could develop actually beautiful games that ran great on modest hardware, really weird to be nostalgic not for pixelated graphics or primitive 3d graphics, but actual cinematic games that ran on a toaster. Also, props for Johnny always trying to make us laugh with his "good news" about this game being "powered" by U5.
60 fps with Framegen.
This engine needs to die
Slop yet again
Back in 7th gen console gaming era, Unreal engine games used to be good news as most of the time they ran great even on average hardware and stutters would be fixed if SSD was used.
UE5 + KONAMI = What could go wrong?
I developed an allergy for UE5, whenever i read that an upcoming or newly released game is using it, i lose all interest
I really had enough playing games that are stuttering and can't even hit 60 fps with performance upscaling
This engine is becoming more notorious than Denuvo! that's a feat
Classic for Japanese devs.
Why did you create another alt? I'm going to have to block you all over again.
It's a basic engine made so DEI devs could finish their propaganda projects, so don't expect much!
That said, this game is not about high framerates (sorry fake numbers audience), it's about story, and it excels at that!
A great mix of complex and deep plot with the japanese silliness. Big fan of this series and loved that they're keeping it original!
Another game to rival with RE2 remake and SH2 remake as the most played by me.
Hi John, why does your website always look like we’re scrolling on a phone? It doesn’t use the full screen of the monitor
it either does not have denuvo so it's free or it's a nogo, similar to the dead space remake, I'd think there are probably some mods for the emu etc versions that can make this not worth the inflated cost by Nonami. I liked Silent HIll 2 remake but it wasn't better then the OG enhanced version in any way other then the modern camera and controls and graphics and that's not worth the cost. I found RE4 remake to be forgettable tbh and pretty underwhelming.
