Capcom had a playable demo of Onimusha: Way of the Sword at Gamescom 2025. So, below you can find a video showcasing 12 minutes of gameplay footage from it.
In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, players will battle through dangerous and bloody battlefields using fast and powerful sword moves. They will also explore Edo-era Kyoto, a famous old city in Japan, now changed and corrupted by evil clouds known as Malice.
Players will fight scary monsters from the underworld called Genma. These creatures are powerful and creepy, and they come from a dark and evil place. The story is full of magic, mystery, and danger, with a dark fantasy style. As you explore the world, you’ll uncover secrets and face tough battles while trying to stop the Genma and save the land.
In this new Onimusha game, you will follow the story of a brave samurai who has a special weapon, the Oni Gauntlet. This magical gauntlet gives the samurai powerful abilities to fight and defeat the Genm. With the Oni Gauntlet, the samurai can use amazing skills to protect the land and stop the dark forces. You will go on an exciting adventure full of action, danger, and mystery as you help the samurai fight to save the world.
Capcom plans to release Onimusha: Way of the Sword sometime in 2026. The Steam page does not list the Denuvo anti-tamper tech right now. My guess is that Capcom will list it once it makes the game available for pre-order. That’s also when we’ll most likely get its PC requirements.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
