And the time has finally come. Modder ‘GPUnity’ has released an HD Texture Pack for the third part in the Batman Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight.
As I wrote in an older article, Batman: Arkham Knight still looks great in 2025. However, the game suffers from some low-res textures. This was my biggest gripe with it. But finally, we have an HD Texture Pack that will improve all of the low-quality textures.
As GPUnity explained, this mod was made by a team of modders working together. GPUnity worked on the Batmobile textures and did some manual texture changes. Modder ‘Neato’ upscaled most of the game’s textures and made the mod installer. And finally, Mr. Binks added small details to Batman’s cape and brought some optimization tweaks.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it. I’ve also included some before/after comparison screenshots.
If you own the previous Batman Arkham games, I highly recommend downloading the following mods for them. Created by GPUnity, these mods will greatly enhance their graphics. Thus, they are a must for everyone who wants to replay them.
Let’s start with the mod for Batman: Arkham Asylum. This one is a 4K Texture Pack that upgrades all the textures in the game.
Next, we have Batman: Arkham City Redux. This mod includes over 1,000 improved textures that have been upscaled, cleaned up, and polished by hand. It also fully supports DirectX 11 and is easy to install with just one setup.
Lastly, there’s a graphics mod for Batman: Arkham Origins. It improves how snow changes when you walk through it, makes shadows look better, and gives you more control over the field of view (FOV).
And there you have it. You can now enjoy all the Batman: Arkham games with better graphics than before. I’m really glad we got this HD Texture Pack for Arkham Knight, as I really enjoyed it when I replayed.
Have fun!

It's just overkill at this point.
There's an improvement but it's quite minor, and how much Vram you need?
I don't think vram will be an issue in the newer cards for this game now. It already runs great and looks great. Also I don't think the creator upscaled all the textures, just the ones he thinks are low res that ofc in gameplay probably no one will notice. Rip Rocksteady btw. We had the best in our times.
That's the beauty of PC, most people won't notice the low res console tier textures (and i say that in probably the best looking UE3 game released) but those who do…well there's a mod for it now.
Yup! realistically In gameplay & taking photos you'd never be able to go that close to the characters. For me this game is the best showcase of what unreal engine can do. It will probably stand head to head 10y from now. Sad to see UE5 going downhill from what was the best optimized engine to the worst.
I've replayed it in 2024, and I could easily notice the low-res textures while playing. So, this is a must for me.
Ah..yes! almost forgot the no-less than 8k enjoyer, power cable melter, gigachad of the best, Sir John must needed it 😉
Amazing that it's Unreal Engine 3, not 4.
Speak no less, one can easily get fooled by its looks that its unreal 4. You can easily compare it to the ue4 titles and it will probably still win.
I wouldn't say it's overkill, at least not for all of the textures showcased, the mud ones are some I actually noticed were pretty low resolution even from a reasonable distance, last time I played the game. Though some of the others might have been less necessary.
