Cronos The New Dawn feature-2

Behold 35 minutes of new gameplay from Cronos: The New Dawn

Last week, Bloober Team shared a 10-minute gameplay video for Cronos: The New Dawn. And now, they’ve shared an even longer one. To be more precise, we now have 35 minutes of new gameplay footage. It’s rare to see a game studio share such a long video, so it seems like Bloober Team feels really confident about this game.

This gameplay video shows the beginning of the game. In it, we follow Traveler ND-3576 as she lands in the New Dawn area and starts her mission to find a mysterious person called the Predecessor. Since this is the start of the game, you might want to skip the video if you don’t want any spoilers.

Cronos: The New Dawn takes place in a dark world where old, rough buildings mix with strange future tech. According to the devs, you’ll experience an exciting story that connects the past and the future.

In this game, you will assume the role of a Traveler who acts as an agent for the enigmatic Collective. Your task will be to scour the wastelands of the future in search of specific time rifts that will transport you back to 1980s-era Poland.

Players will have to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using their all-powerful Harvester, players can extract their Essences and have them accompany them into the future.

The enemies you’ll encounter in this game will be nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity. To defeat them, you’ll have to make full use of your arsenal.

From the looks of it, Cronos: The New Dawn will be the most action-oriented game of Bloober Team. It appears that the team has learned a lot from its collaboration with Konami for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Thus, I’m kind of looking forward to it.

Cronos: The New Dawn will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. And, I hope that it will be in a better technical state when it comes out than SH2 Remake was. After all, Silent Hill 2 Remake still suffers from major traversal stutters.

Bloober Team plans to release this game this Fall. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. It's not terrible but it's not special either. I like that combat is grounded and gory instead of looking flashy and chinese but I don't like the look of protagonist, it looks childish and generic.

    1. the main character is of course a woman. Well, i dont get why anyone would be excited for a x360 style shoulder camera third person slow moving horror shooter game. It feels like a x360 mediocre game that i have not played instead of something interesting. I dont have any nostalgia for that era of games. I got bored and started skipping along the video, nothing of interest happened, i dont care about this game at all.

      1. Wait, the main character is a wahman in an otherwise masculine-looking game (we don't know about what's deep inside the actual game for now)? There goes even the tiniest bit of hope I had for this being even remotely decent.

It's not surprising at all that this is coming from the same POSs who leeched on Silent Hill 2 and produced that stupid demake out of it that only got hyped and sold well because of its name and nothing else.

      2. I also cringed at the dated RE-style inventory. Getting a little tired of these horror games where a tiny door key takes up as much space as a handgun. And don't even get me started on the yellow paint, it's just insulting at this point.

    2. OF COURSE it is , its being made with modern audience , imaginary costumers in mind , even the protagonist doesn't look like its walking but swinging.

        1. Same here, I face palmed, once i saw the hip sway…"wtf, its a chick!" dudes walk with shoulders/women hips….I really hope the Hordes of Female Hardcore sci-fi Horror Video gamers show up and make great success…/s…
