YouTube’s ‘s1mple s1mple’ has shared a video, showcasing 22 minutes of new gameplay footage from Phantom Blade Zero. This video seems to show off the first area and enemies that players will encounter in it.
Phantom Blade Zero is an action RPG, inspired by Devil May Cry and Sekiro, and powered by Unreal Engine 5. This won’t be another Souls-like game. This is crucial to note as, initially, a lot thought this would be another Dark Souls clone. According to the devs, it won’t be.
Phantom Blade Zero will be coming to PC. S-Game confirmed that back in February 2024. To be more precise, the game will be available on both Steam and Epic Games Store. However, those store pages have not gone live yet.
In March 2025, NVIDIA revealed that the game will support DLSS 4. Now, we don’t know whether there will also be support for MFG or not. I guess we’ll find out when the game comes out.
There is currently no ETA on when Phantom Blade Zero will come out. An earlier trailer hinted at a 2025 release date. Still, this game could very well slip to 2026.
I really like everything I saw in this new gameplay video. The combat looks fast and fun. The animations are also super smooth. Also, the damage you take from enemies isn’t over-the-top like in many recent Souls-like games. So yeah, I’m really excited for this one. This could be a big hit.
Another interesting thing is the game’s performance. I could not spot any stutters in the video. So, this could be one of the few UE5 games that will run great on PC. I did spot some weird 30FPS animations on distant enemies. If you look closely, you’ll definitely see them. So, hopefully, there will be a way to have 60FPS animations on PC via Max Settings.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

what? No slow movement with animations that look as if you crapped your pants? No clunky armor sounds, no stamina bar, no slow attack swing animations? This isnt souls like, boooo we need another souls like.
/sarcasm.
If they never make another souls like, it will be too early.
the best souls like didn't really play like a fromsoftware game and that was sekiro.
Agreed. From are truly the masters of their own domain.
by far the best souls like and it had a story as well.
HAHA the irony. I hate souls-like games, but I love Sekiro and I think it's the best game from, ironically, the creators of the souls gameplay. I believe that from soft, very deep in their hearts, loves to create flashy, deep and fast combat systems, but they know (sadly) where the money comes from. F*king retrded gaming crow, dude. Why people is so dumb??
Hope some day they can fulfill their dream and create the perfect amalgamation of Sekiro+character actions games
The fighting in this game is pure sword-art & blissfull to watch. I don't like that 1frame freeze impact feedback many games use. This game respects it and the animations are super smooth just like DMC & Bayonetta.
DMC-like, I hope.
