The Last of Us Part I Patch 1.1.5 Released & Fully Detailed

Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have released Title Update 1.1.5 for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. This appears to be a small update. So, let’s take a look at its patch notes to see its tweaks, fixes, and changes.

Patch 1.1.5 adds in-game support for AMD FSR 4.0. Owners of an AMD Radeon RX 9000 series GPU will no longer have to enable FSR 4.0 via the driver. Instead, they will be able to enable it via the in-game settings. Moreover, the game will now display the AMD FSR version.

AMD Radeon RX 9000 series owners could enable AMD FSR 4.0 via the driver since the release of the AMD Adrenalin 25.3.1 driver. So, this is a nothing burger for most of them. It’s cool we now have in-game support. However, the quality of FSR 4.0 will remain the same. I want to make it crystal clear. The game already had native support for FSR 4.0. So, this is just an in-game setting that will make it easier to enable it. It will not affect its image quality in any way.

It’s kind of strange that The Last of Us Part I never got official support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation. The devs have been updating the AMD FSR version constantly, but they haven’t done anything for DLSS in a long time. The only way to use DLSS 3 Frame Gen is by installing a mod. Sadly, though, that mod isn’t free. It’s locked behind a Patreon paywall.

Patch 1.1.5 also comes with a Steam Deck tweak. To be more precise, it improves an issue where distorted or degraded audio could be heard in certain areas. So, good news for those who currently play this title on the Steam Deck.

The devs also claimed that this latest update packs various performance optimizations, as well as crash fixes and stability improvements. To be honest, though, I don’t expect the game to run significantly better with it. Still, it’s at least good to know that it will now be more stable on the PC.

As always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. "The devs also claimed that this latest update packs various performance optimizations,"

isnt it surreal how the sequel runs better?

        1. Exactly what he said. Last of Us Part 2 was a PS4 game. Last of Us Part 1 is a PS5 game.

        2. Exactly what you read. TLOU2 is a PS4 game. It’s easier to run. TLOU 1 Remake is a PS5 game. It does look better than TLOU 2, even if slightly. It is therefore heavier than TLOU2.

        1. You can … lock to whatever fps is your target, enable FSR FG and actual GPU load drops to half. Proper input response, perfect visuals due to using motion vectors.

Why use the inferior Losless Scaling if FSR FG is available, lol.

          1. Why would I do that when I can use a built in upscaler then use lossless scaling on top?

          2. Lossless scaling is trash compared to properly implemented FSR frame generation.

          3. Lossless scaling works with every single video game, every single emulator as well as videos.
It’s also better for GPU load and temps.
I pointed these outs in my previous comment but you probably didn’t read them (or you have severe comprehension issues).
In both cases, it’s obvious you have a low IQ.

          4. Because in this case FSR3 FG looks better, has less input lag and requires vastly less GPU/VRAM demands than LSFG.

You can use LSFG *on top* of FSR3 FG if you want to achieve X4 maybe. Alternatively for AMD GPUs, FSR3 FG + AFMF is better.

          5. “has less input lag and requires vastly less GPU/VRAM demands than LSFG.”
            LMAO
I’m 100 percent sure you looked up some ancient benchmarks or tried the app a few months/years ago.
Optiscaler isn’t even remotely close to lsfg when it comes to gpu/vram usage.
I just loaded dead island 2 on max settings; my vram usage jumped from 5200MB to 5400MB after I enabled 4x fg, and my temp literally moved by only 2 degrees celsius after playing for half an hour.
            Can Optiscaler FG do that?

          6. You keep talking about how you can do this and that to avoid adressing my point?
Can you quadruple your frame rate with 5-10 percent increase in your gpu usage and almost no hit on temp?
I also inject nvidia reflex with riva tuner and I can finger my a*shole while standing up.

          7. Yes, AFMF + any of the options I mentioned quadruples FPS with *less* GPU usage and less temp than LSFG, while having higher image quality and lower input lag. That’s what I kept saying.

          8. Where’s your proof? I need to see a video where you can quadruple your fps with 200mb increase in vram usage and no hit to temp.

          9. But where’s the video where you can quadruple your fps with 200mb increase in vram and no hit to GPU temps?
Are you a dishonest c*nt or just a low IQ dense fanboy f4ggot? Stop linking me videos your j3rk off to.

          10. Last time I tried fsr fg, the input lag is way worse than lsfg (latest version), I think it was on elden ring that I tested

          11. Turn off sync mode in the app then set queue target to 0
Then inject nvdia reflext with riva tuner
Don't let these brain dead c*nts tell you lossless scaling is bad, they are extremely stupid.

          12. Elden Ring doesn’t have native FSR FG.

The curent FG implementation in TLOU 1 is excelent.
