Stellar Blade has sold one million copies on PC in just 3 days

Shift Up has announced that the PC version of Stellar Blade has sold one million copies in its first three days. As the devs noted, this means that Stellar Blade PC achieved the highest level of performance in the history of single-player games developed domestically.

Stellar Blade came out on PS5 last year. And, so far, the game has sold 3 million copies across both platforms. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the PC version manages to catch up—or even surpass—the PS5 sales within a matter of weeks (or months).

In Stellar Blade, players will assume the role of the powerful heroine Eve. Players will join forces with comrades along the way and take up the challenge against the tough adventure.

Players will engage in blisteringly fast combat as they slash a path through the remnants of Earth. They will unleash graceful yet brutal attacking combos, unlock new moves and weapon upgrades, and face epic boss encounters that will challenge both brain and brawn in equal measure.

Stellar Blade is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and performs extremely well on PC. Even though it uses Denuvo. As we’ve reported, even an NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti is able to offer a smooth gaming experience at 1440p/Max Settings.

The game also supports a number of PC-only features. For instance, there is support for ultrawide monitors. It also supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3.0. Sadly, though, there is no support for Intel XeSS.

The modding community has also been busy these days with Stellar Blade. Right now, you can download a nude mod for it, as well as some alternative suit mods. We all knew these mods would be the first to come out. So, we are not really that surprised by them.

I’ve been playing Stellar Blade lately, and it’s a great game. I’d heard some reports on PS5 that the controls were lagging and that parrying felt delayed. However, that’s not the case on PC. Controls feel great, and the game plays incredibly well with KB&M. Moreover, this is one of the few games that can benefit from gaming at 8K.

All in all, I knew this game would be a big hit on PC. This weekend, it managed to hit a peak of 188K concurrent players on Steam. So, there is a big market for it on PC. Yes, it sucked we didn’t get it alongside the PS5 version. But hey, at least it runs well on PC.

  1. That's what happens when you make a good product and the company doesn't attack its customers and even encourages the use of mods, unlike 2K games which can be banned for using mods in Borderlands.

  2. Seems that most of the audience is from the far east, same as with Wukong. Game barely touched 50k concurred during the western prime time and around 200k on far eastern prime time. Just what I noticed, success either way

  4. Denuvo helps to sell games and performance is a non-issue if developers take their time and optimize the game.

    1. there is no proof of denuvo boosting sales, i have been tracking this since 2014-2015 that denuvo started being used. There are more games with denuvo that failed and games without denuvo that sold well than the opposite, those are the facts. Which is why there are so many flops that removed denuvo after it flopped and then you got denuvo breaking games or the denuvo servers going down so they had to remove it because games became unplayable. As for performance? Its true that denuvo is not an issue in performance now because games are already badly optimized thanks to unreal engine 5 and ray tracing, this game has neither.

      1. You bring information right out of your fat behind. Stellar Blade is the perfect example that Denuvo helps with the sales right after launch. This is the fact you suppose to read and digest, not the crap you get out of your ***. People with no jobs are not able to play on their PC's as the game cannot be pirated due to Denuvo. So millions of people bought the game. People like you tend to blame Denuvo for the bad performance while Spider-Man 2 and Mindseye, both non Denuvo games, had been released with bad performance. And it was even done by Nixxes for Spider-Man 2, a well capable porting studio. It is the developers lack of effort on optimization that should be blamed, not Denuvo. There are also UE5 games (eg. Clair Obscur, Robocop) that run really well. If your potato PC is not able to run Raytracing, disable it. And if RT cannot be disabled, play something else. Perhaps Tetris or Pong. Denuvo servers are not going anywhere and they have great uptime, you worrying about something that hardly ever happen. You just searching for an excuse.

          1. I think truth lies somewhere in between. If the game is a masterpiece (Game Of the Year) contender DRM or not it is going to sell well. But if it's solid game but not a must buy people are far more likely to pirate it. Sure some of them might buy the game if they like it, but it still is a solid chunk of the day one release sales the publishers lose out on.

            Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, had a rocky start due to technical problems—it simply wasn’t ready when it launched. Despite that, the game itself was strong, and people trusted CD Projekt Red enough to give it a chance. That trust paid off, as it eventually became a polished and highly regarded title. I even bought it myself, despite not being a fan of first-person games.

            The majority of buyers don’t even know who developed the game, let alone whether it includes DRM. Most players simply purchase based on gameplay, reviews, and recommendations rather than researching technical aspects like anti-piracy measures. For many, it’s about whether the game is enjoyable—not who published it or what security it has in place. If you’re making a point, you might want to reconsider your example.

    1. This will still not be the norm unfortunately. We will still see Neil Cuckman and other Sony studios making woke games and not to mention microsoft is also on the same boat. We should keep expectation low so we don't get disappointed and ofc support the devs that makes games like these
