Clair Obscur Expedition 33 feature-3

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold 1 million copies in 3 days

Kepler Interactive has announced that in its first three days, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has managed to sell 1 million copies. This is a huge commercial success for Sandfall Interactive which is a small team.

As the devs claimed, this number does not encompass the GamePass players. In other words, that’s how many copies the game has sold right now. And, it deserves even more. This is one of the best games of 2025. Thus, I’m glad to see that it has been a commercial success.

Right now, the game has Very Positive reviews on Steam. Moreover, it hit 98K concurrent players yesterday. So, we might see that number surpass 100K later today since it’s Sunday.

Our PC Performance Analysis for this game will most likely go live later today. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 performs like most recent UE5 games. Thankfully, though, it does not suffer from any major stuttering issues. I’ve played over 9 hours and my gaming experience has been solid.

As I’ve said, the game’s DLAA implementation is borked at the moment. For whatever reason, the image with DLAA does not look like true 4K. Instead, it feels like the game is being rendered at a lower resolution. Not only that, but the devs have used a sharpening filter that can make the game look kind of bad.

The good news is that you can easily resolve these image quality issues. For starters, you should use DLSS Quality instead of DLAA. DLSS Quality looks better than DLAA in this title. At least right now. Then, you can use the NVIDIA App to enable DLSS 4’s Transformer Model. This will give you a better image quality than the CNN Model. And finally, you can download this mod to remove the sharpening filter.

The aforementioned mod will also remove the 30FPS cap from the cut-scenes. Do note, though, that the cut-scenes are more demanding than the actual game. My guess is that this was the reason why the devs locked them at 30FPS. So, unlock the cut-scenes only if you own a high-end GPU.

Speaking of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, yesterday, we shared a DLSS 4 Frame Gen Mod for it. Created by PureDark, this mod allows you to take advantage of Frame Gen. This might get handy for those with weaker RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs. The downside is that the mod is behind a Patreon wall. So, let’s hope that someone will create a free DLSS 4 Frame Gen Mod.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. people keep saying this but all i have heard is this overdramatic slow singling melancholic tune from the intro.

      1. Probably means the soundtrack for music that plays during combat. General music has a lot of repetition for sure.

    1. True, I've seen absolutely nothing "special" about this game so far (don't mind to be proven wrong though). Judging it from the surface, this looks like a generic RPG from 2011 with the budget of a developer who makes AA games that would have been rated a 7.5/10 and then immediately forgotten had it actually been released in that era.

      1. Ubisoft keeps talking about how many have played Assassin's Creed Shadows, not how many units they have sold. The odds are their sales haven't even reached half a million units. We're not actually going to know how much money was made from sales of that game until Ubisoft releases their quarterly earnings report, but I don't know if that will include a report on how many units were sold.

  1. so according to these marketing numbers it's sold 333,000(and change) per day lmao these are just marketing numbers with no independent verification. The hypnosis of marketing is so strong that it's no wonder the tribester-brickmason skum believe they actually own peoples personalities to be programmed as they like with these false claims. Do as THEY wilt. "what we say IS reality" type of people.
