Remedy’s CONTROL is free to own on Epic Games Store

Epic Games is currently giving away for free Remedy’s CONTROL. Until tomorrow, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.

CONTROL was one of the best-looking games on PC when it came out in 2019. And even today, the game looks great. Not only that, but its gunplay mechanics are better than those of Alan Wake 2. At least in my opinion. Plus, you can destroy a lot of objects during your fights, something that a lot of players may enjoy.

CONTROL is a third-person action game set in a mysterious, ever-changing world. It mixes the familiar with the strange and unexplainable. Players take on the role of Jesse Faden (played by Courtney Hope), the new Director trying to bring order back to chaos.

The game uses the Northlight Engine and supports both Ray Tracing and DLSS 2.0. Remedy has used real-time ray tracing for reflections, contact shadows, diffuse global illumination, and transparent reflections.

This isn’t the first time that Epic Games has given away CONTROL for free. If you don’t own it yet, though, I highly recommend getting it while you still can.

You can grab your free copy from this link.

From what I know, the game never received official support for DLSS 3. However, it appears that by using Optiscaler, you can enable FSR 3.0 Frame Generation. I haven’t tested it, but this does appear to work. So, I’ve linked a video below that shows how you can make this work.

Here’s hoping that CONTROL 2 will be even better. Remedy is right now working on it. So, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Have fun!

    1. So…why are you here? Article clearly says Epic Store, random internet troll can't leave well enough alone and has to make a comment.

    2. This game was already given away on all types of stores, that should simply be F2P at this point.

Remedy desperate to get attention to it.

      1. sure LOL because alan wake 2 didn't sell anything, Epic store users just want free games and that's it without buying anything what a useless community LOL 👍🤣

        1. That game did not deserve to sell, and neither does Remedy deserve our money.

They made their bed with Epic, and should pay the consequences for it, I don’t support developers that sign exclusive deals with Epic.

We finally got rid of console exclusives, for Epic and greedy Publishers and Developers to bring exclusive deals to the PC ecosystem.

          1. as I always say, let's stop playing fartnite and pirate the exclusives on Epic store, timmy tencent has already paid for our copy LOL

      1. epic store sucks so much that users have to post in steam forum if they have any problems with games LOL 👍🤣

      2. the madness that are too many launchers on PC, i wish console players could experience it on their digital only you own nothing consoles. imagine having to start rockstar launcher, ubisoft whatever its called now, ea crap, and epic. there are only two worthy installing for any pc gamer. steam because gaben actually offers a decent software and service compared to the rest and has all the games you want and networking and socials and GOG because fckdrm and everyone who stands for DRM. we only accept steamDRM because, what else can we do but become pirates or GOG maniacs? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bc0ef0253e8f3b8fa7c3fe838b56d5873499de625f1aa6819d042012433f0290.gif

          1. EVERYONE since AEONS charges 30%, not just steam, you hear people on the console side b*tch? only because epic tries to lure devs to them with a carrot on a stick method. in the end no developer can survive on epic games store alone. hence epic needs to BRIBE developers. you try to white knight too much. the epic service is so dogsh*t, devs dont even get feedback and while steam forums are full of morons, at least there is a help center built into the launcher. the software sucks A*S. and unless it does, steam will tear down their pants and violently have their way with epic. not to mention they are singlehandedly responsible for the infantilization and degneration of mainstream shooters with fortnite and produced an engine that is a PLAGUE upon pc gamers. they can ROT IN HELL. so much so, their mainly console focused engine is funded by bribing pc developers and still they gotta let devs get charged 30% BY SONY AND MS. devs no matter what, get shafted and epic can´t do ANYTHING. so stop whining with your silly 15%+- because it is UNIVERSAL that NOBODY liked EPIC except a few handful who never understood the concept of supply and demand. either their games sell, or they don´t. its up to the people and the people want quality and epic can´t provide it. now shut up serf and fetch me my water.

a dev makes 300k. you think 15% makes them live or die? bad development cycles, bad financial planning, sh*t like that kills a dev. not because steam charges a bit more taxes. if anything, why do you think nobody gives a sh*t and lowers theirs to fight epic? because nobody takes em serious. not because steam is a monopoly. if anything you should support GOG. DRM is much more of a cancer and any dev defending DRM thinking it helps increase sales can keep their halfassed opinion to themselves as well.

  1. you know whats pathetic? they make the game free already but not the DLC. so why bother and instead not just pirate the superior complete edition from any of our favorite websites? this industry and whoever makes these decisions are monkeys with the brains of a biologically retarded dumpsterbaby.
