NVIDIA RTX 40 series owners, we’ve got some good and some bad news for you. The good news is that a mod has been released for Silent Hill 2 Remake that enables DLSS 3 Frame Generation. The bad news is that it’s a paid mod.
Created by modder PureDark, this mod enables DLSS 3 Frame Generation in SH2R. According to early reports, it works pretty well. But, as I said, this is a paid mod. Currently, the mod is only available to PureDark’s patrons. Moreover, there is no word on when, and if, the modder will release it to the public.
My guess is that someone might upload this mod to NexusMods without PureDark’s permission. I’m not saying this is okay, but the same thing happened with other DLSS 3 mods before, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a DLSS 3 FG mod on NexusMods soon. Also, watch out for fake mods that might show up. For instance, someone on NexusMods faked a DLSS 3 Mod by simply compressing two DLL files. This does nothing. And no, it will not enable DLSS 3 Frame Generation. So, be careful with what you download.
PureDark’s DLSS 3 FG Mod will be essential for those who want to get the best image quality. By using it, you can enable DLAA and enjoy the game at 60fps with better AA. This, in my opinion, is the best way to play the game. That’s why we want native support for DLSS 3 FG.
It’s funny but back in the Starfield days, another modder arose with free DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mods. That modder was no other than LukeFZ. Sadly, though, he hasn’t released any new DLSS3/FSR3 mods for a while. So, the only one we can rely on for DLSS 3 FG Mods is PureDark.
Anyway, if you want to get the DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod for Silent Hill 2 Remake, you’ll have to join PureDark’s Patreon. Once, and if, someone else releases a free DLSS 3 Mod, I’ll make sure to let you know.

We can use FSR Frame Gen by messing with the .ini config files. Let's hope a future update will address things.
Well, I appreciate other's hard work and talent when it comes to Modding and stuff like that, but charging money for a basic MOD like this doesn't bode well for the gaming community in the long run, imho.
And that too when we know someone else is definitely going to release a similar mod for free in near future.
Oh BTW, is this the same user/modder who once inserted DRM in his own mods ? If true, then that kinda sucks, and is downright silly and greedy af !

It's pretty sad what gaming has become in many ways but I'm an old fart so I knew much better days. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Most gamers today just expect to get charged for every little thing and do pay for it unfortunately.
Get lossless scaling, It's dirt cheap and you'll never have to pay for another frame gen mod ever again.
Lossless Scaling is pretty good but inferior to modded or native Amd/Nvidia Frame Gen. Watch the head of the character when you move the camera. You get a "tearing/clipping" kind of artefact. Also the "watery" artefacts on the sides of the screen. If you have a small screen it's less distracting and yes overall even with the artifacts the fluidity might be worth the price in some cases but it's far from perfect. Input lag is higher as well.
Turn off in game v-sync and use the one provided in the software.
Input lag is not an issue anymore (almost), I’m gussing you pirated an old version?
I have version 2.11. I think I tried all methods. Yes..it’s better with Lossless own V-Sync I guess but still needs improvement. Like I said is pretty good but inferior at least for me compared to the modded or native implementations. What do you use to measure input lag? I use Render Latency from GeForce Experience.

Lossless scaling has noticeable input lag and motion artifacts. AMD FG is not good either, as it needs at least 60fps to work properly, and it has motion judder. I can turn on DLSS FG and not even notice it is on, but every other FG technology has some issues that detract from the experience.
You must have pirated it then because the guy who made it solved the input lag issue a few months ago
Artifacts are not that common or distracting unless you lock your frame rate to something like 30 or lower

There are many reasons why people laugh at this rubbish. For one, you have 4090 and still have to use fake frames in order to do achieve “4k”. The Advent of this rubbish is causing the gaming industry to revert itself into foolishness. No optimization, let’s just fake frame it and call it a day.

Something about this game makes it run and look much better with DLSS than the other games I have which support DLSS. I play on 1080P monitor. Without DLSS the game can't run maxed out and characters hair looks shimmering somehow. With DLSS Quality I can max out everything and turn on Raytracing + supersampling set to 150%. Doesn't even max out my underclocked RTX 4070. And doesn't even use half of my old i5 8600K CPU.
