Phantom Blade Zero feature-2

Phantom Blade Zero gets a Gamescom 2024 trailer and an 8-minute gameplay video

S-Game has shared the official Gamescom 2024 trailer for Phantom Blade Zero. Moreover, Gamespot shared a video, showcasing 8 minutes of gameplay from its Gamescom 2024 demo. So, let’s take a look at them.

In the 8-minute gameplay video, we get to see 3 boss battles and some small skirmishes. We also get to see a few variations in weapons including the dual blades, a one-handed sword, a great sword, a canon, and a flamethrower.

From what we know so far, Phantom Blade Zero will not be a new Souls-like game. Instead, players will have at their disposal various combos to use. They will also be able to stagger their enemies, similarly to Sekiro. In a way, the game will be a mix of Devil May Cry and Sekiro. So, if you don’t like the Dark Souls games, you will most likely enjoy this title.

For those wondering, Blade Phantom Zero will be coming to PC. S-Game confirmed that back in February 2024. To be more precise, the game will be available on both Steam and Epic Games Store.

Phantom Blade Zero will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. However, we don’t know whether or not it will support Lumen or Nanite. We also don’t know whether there will be support for NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR or Intel XeSS.

Finally, there is no ETA on when the game will come out. My guess is that Phantom Blade Zero will be targeting a Fall 2026 release. So, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. no no no, the combat here looks much better than wukong and stellar blade and lies of ps and elden ring, looks more like dmc than souls like, the animations and movement are different, faster. It actually looks fun to play.

Also if only it was just asian developers, everyone is ripping off souls.

      1. The comparison with Lies of P and Elden Ring is out of place, different genres and fast doesn't necessarily means better, it's just your preference

        1. how its out of place? Lies of p is literally bloodborne with extras on top, this is not like souls lie its like devil may cry.

          1. Lies of P is an Action/RPG, that plays like a Souls game, so is Bloodborne and Elden Ring, do you even know what are you talking about ? And you’re comparing them with a Hack N Slash game which is the equivalent of comparing Call of Duty to Insurgency just because both games have guns, absolutely wrong

    1. yes and no. Assassins copied the souls like games in origins and kept it ever since (2017). It's dark souls type of combat with some devil may cry hack n slash.

      1. Probably my ignorance to the genre then. The DMC series and others looked cool but I had a tough time getting into that style of action game and much prefer the souls and souls-like style. The closest I’ve gotten to enjoying that action combat style has been Nier Automata.

        1. Haven’t tried nier automata, it’s too hack n’ slash fast pace for me but have gone into every dark souls type of game i can get my hands into. Mostly for the cool weapons, can’t be arsed to play them without a trainer nowadays.

          1. Im not too keen on the hack n slash either but I wanted to give it a try because my friends really liked it and I always here such great things about the narrative. I think the combat is serviceable as you dont have to get too engaged in it but the narrative and story were pretty interesting and I can see why it was so highly revered. I do prefer the souls-style as well and just finished Demons Souls on RPCS3. I think its something about the style that does immersion better than the those action combat types.

          2. I’ve heard good things from my friends as well, I might pick it up and give it a try, thanks!

  1. Cool for those who like hack and slash!
I hope western devs will open their eyes now with the release of Wukong, which is lifting the bar. And by lift, I mean dig from the abismal deep the western burried the bar along the last decade or so.
