Dying Light The Beast feature

Here are the first details for Techland’s Dying Light: The Beast

Techland has just launched the official Steam store page for Dying Light: The Beast, revealing its first details. Dying Light: The Beast will be a standalone game, meaning that it won’t require Dying Light 2.

In this game, you will assume the role of Kyle Crane, the man whose selflessness during the initial virus outbreak saved many from a fate worse than death. After more than a decade in captivity, you find yourself in a world that’s changed, and not for the better.

The game will take place in Castor Woods. As the devs noted, the world will have natural landmarks, small villages and industrial complexes, offering diverse traversal options.

Crane will also have some superhuman powers. After years of experiments, the zombie DNA and his are now intertwined so that you are able to unleash a beast-like power.

Lastly, the game will support both solo and co-op modes. Players will be able to team up with up to four players.

My guess is that Techland will share a trailer for the game during Gamescom 2024 Opening Night. As soon as it does, I’ll be sure to update the story with it.

Stay tuned for more!

UPDATE:

Here is the trailer. Enjoy!

      1. Chrome 6 actually. And tbh it still looks crisp and without any shimmering upscaling technology and runs brilliant. People drooling over framegen, dlss, dlaa blah blah could just look at original Dying Light in 4k and it stands out more next-gen already
Edit: I see you actually meant the game instead of their engine.

    1. AB.SO.LUTELY. Still play that game and it still rocks. But it's actually owned by jubisoft unfortunately, TL I think just the hired help there. And of course DL1 was I think their next game that was all there's no need to hassle w someone elses ip.

      1. Well, Techland actually owns the IP since 2018 after going independent. I guess DL2 was the reason we didn't see next Coj so hopefully after this dlc they will work on gunslinger 2

  1. Funny… Techland CHINA promised Dying Light 2 fans a bigger DLC some time ago, but since then the topic has been silent and as you can see, instead of a new DLC, naive and stupid fans will get a new game.

Anyway, looks like Techland China either doesn't know what Dying Light fans want, or they're pretending and getting into things that aren't necessary.

DL fans kept telling them that they don't want any superpowers and other crap that's in Dying Light 2, meanwhile Techland and Tencent came up with a great idea to create a new game with the favorite hero of Dying Light fans, but with all the crap that fans didn't like in Dying Light 2.

    1. But it basically is the seconds DLC, read the Steam page:

*Dying Light: The Beast will be available for no extra charge for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

  2. This makes no sense.
Dying Light 1 The Following shows that Kyle Crane is dead or turned in to monster so WTF is this ?

    1. Makes perfect sense. DL2 sucks, has lower player count than 9-year old original. The Following also sucked.

Hopefully this one will be a proper sequel but I wouldn’t count on it.

  3. Looks more like the first game so thats good but they should finally make chrome 2 as a sci fi open world game what starfield should have been.

  4. I think they jumped the gun w dl2 went too far ahead and of course the mess that is dl2, it's an ok game no doubt and I love the long term support they give but it's still just the generic lgbtxyz colorful "pan" version of dl no one wanted. Awful "DLC" of an arena w some dumb half axed story wrapped around it. Yeah where's the real dlc on the caliber of The Following there? years later nothing but skins and "events" dlc smh

So yeah I guess we'll get some effed up vgame logic story just to bring back KC, 113, for the cash. Oughta just change characters to one of the npcs in 1 and do another DLC of 1.

  5. playing as a zombie-parkour hybrid Crane, honestly i like the premise, stealth gameplay as a hunter volatile has some massive gameplay implications
