Star Wars Outlaws feature-4

Over 50 minutes of new gameplay footage from Star Wars: Outlaws

YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ has shared a few videos, showcasing over 50 minutes of gameplay footage from Star Wars: Outlaws. These videos will give you a better idea of what this new Star Wars game is all about. So, make sure to watch them.

In these videos, we get to see the Kessel Sabacc minigame. This is a card game that players will be able to play in various places. We also get to see the game’s Vendor system. Thanks to it, players will be able to purchase and upgrade their weapons and skills.

Naturally, these videos also have some exploration and combat sequences. We also get to see some new environments. So, these videos should satisfy a lot of Star Wars fans who are currently looking forward to it.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In this game, players will explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new.

Players will assume the role of Kay Vess; an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Alongside Vess, players will find her companion Nix. Players will fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as they join the galaxy’s most wanted.

The game will have Ray Tracing effects and support DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. Ubisoft and NVIDIA haven’t shared more details about these effects yet. Personally, I think we might get RTGI, like the one we saw in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Ubisoft will release this new Star Wars game on August 30th.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

      1. I’m just kind of tired of all the negativity. I think instead of people just dogpiling on stuff they don’t like, the efforts would be better spent on supporting games/projects they do like. This is the first big Star Wars game in years that I can think of doesn’t focus on Jedi or Wars and the game doesn’t look half bad if a bit shallow, so I’ve been interested. I’m not expecting a BG3 or Elden Ring caliber game but I expect to have fun with it as scoundrel in the universe.

        1. It’s because i have read your comments in several stories saying you will play this or that games, do you play games 24/7?

          1. Im a fan of games don’t know what else to say about it lol. Being older with other responsibilities I try to schedule time for my own hobbies including specific games but of course sometimes you have other things you want to try as well. Scheduling the time helps me get through them and enjoy them at a better pace than when I’d just sift through the library with no particular goals. Then of course there are a few titles that I have floating that I get into when i can steal the time. Having to spend a lot of the time and resources into kids made me just more mindful of the time I get to myself and optimizing it by trying to make sure I do things I want to do in my free time.

        2. Take away all their negativity and there would be nothing left but a silent empty husk …….

It's been my experience in Life that the people who complain the most contribute the least …. Any fool can point out a problem but only the true geniuses can actually fix a problem

I'm still waiting for the whiners and complainers to show us how it should be done and I suspect the wait isn't going to end any time soon …..

          1. I think that’s what’s made the online gaming discourse so sour and sad this year. All those accounts get sideloaded in to algorithms that just grift, pander and gaslight while complaining that other people are doing the exact same thing with on actual solution other than to just monetize their rage baiting and hate farming.

  1. Ubisoft must pay me first if they want me to think about pirating this game.
I charge extra for actually pirating it and even more for playing it.

  2. Those 2D explosions, which are literally just a sequence of bitmap images with an alpha channel for transparency, look terrible.

Maybe voxel engines which render everything as a volume, are not such a bad idea after all, because 2D bitmap textures are no longer cutting it.

  3. What's with her face? I did not look at any footage until now, got curious. She looks… weird? Can't put my finger on it, but it feels uncanny

EDIT: Ohh shiiit, I googled it and only now realized what a huge controversy this is. Wow. Bad sign that I wondered about this purely as a neutral observer, without all that political stuff :/

    1. Yeah, everyone's been wondering what on Earth is wrong with her face. From certain angles it looks OK, but from others it looks like some weird take on Jay Leno.

      1. It's mainly due to the lighting. In some cases, it looks OK and in other cases it looks horrendous. The facial animations are also mediocre.

        1. The Jay Leno chin and her nose don't help either. And I think her jawline is a bit weird too. Might be salvageable with some minor edits, but I doubt they will give us a character creator, and even if they did Ubisoft doesn't like to allow players to edit their facial presets enough in their character creators to make them not look weird.

I don't know how it is where you live John, but in the USA we have this weird extremist left-wing idea that women in movies, TV shows, and video games should be unattractive because it's offensive to unattractive women if the women in media are portrayed as being beautiful. We also have those (on the same side of the political spectrum of course) who claim it's somehow harmful to young women, teenagers, and children if woman are portrayed as "unrealistically attractive". The character designs in a lot of modern video games seem to be drawing from these backwards political ideas, and Ubisoft and their studios seem to be some of the worst about deliberately designing unattractive female main characters in their games.

          1. Also they do it to cater to tran knees. Just like the Body type A and B garbage.

          2. Yeah, from what I understand leaks have shown that most large studios and publishers are getting funds to help pay for game development from third-party groups in exchange for adding DEI themes to their games. That's how they can waste so much money developing games that end up being commercial failures without the entire publisher going under.

          3. So this is the latest Reich Wing Conspiracy Theory?

Where are these third party groups getting the hundreds of millions to do all this stuff? And don't say George Soros, that Conspiracy Theory was worn out 20 years ago …..

          4. From what I understand the groups giving the funds are things like political activist groups (such as the ones that pressure advertising agencies to no longer do business with online services that allow ads to appear next to right-wing opinions). I've heard an acronym used to refer to them, but don't remember what it was.

Also, this has been a theory for some time, but it was supposedly confirmed recently (I haven't seen the leaked info myself).

          5. I've never once heard a "left wing " (In America that is anyone to the left of Hitler) person ever once say this ….. Only a bunch of Reich Wingers making it up out of thin air …..

          6. I've only ever heard people on the left side of politics advocate for that sort of thing, and I've only ever heard people on the right side of politics speak against it.

    2. ha, so you missed the comparisons with the puppets from team america movie and the clip from warriors, look up "warriors come out to play" in youtube, she looks exactly like that guy.

  4. 6:49 first video, girlboss spotted.

its weird how a game in this era can a faction system of sorts and the puppy spying on the opponent playing cards was funny. Also such a large planet with large empty areas and they still using volymetric fog.

Seems to me the worst part of this game is the character and the generic gameplay.

    1. If you squint hard enough to make everything blurry, yes, she looks acceptable.

  5. Those 2D explosions, which are literally just a sequence of bitmap images with an alpha channel for transparency, look terrible.

Maybe voxel engines which render everything as a volume, are not such a bad idea after all, because 2D bitmap textures are no longer cutting it.

  6. Woke Wars: Make women uglier and the world barren but lets ask $70,- for the base game because its SW everyone! – UbiCrap

  7. I haven't played ANY Star Wars games since Knights of the Old Republic 1-2 on PC, in 2003-2004. Oh, and the great Rogue Squadron sequels on Gamecube.
The last good years of that franchise!

Somebody should really tell them that it's time to let go.😌

  8. I love the moment, when Kay is with her gang at campfire, stands up and says: OUTLAWS FOR LIFE!

  9. For some odd reason a lot of people are desperate for this game to fail for some reason ……

I bet it's going to be a huge success and sell in the millions simply based on the history of these people being wrong about nearly everything the past few years …..

  10. The game would have something redeemable if they would let you play as han solo instead of his girlboss version
