DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO looks amazing in its latest gameplay trailer

Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer for DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, showcasing a lot of the characters that will be available in it.

This trailer focuses on the masters and apprentices in DBZ. As such, we can see Gohan training with Piccolo, Videl with Gohan, Master Roshi with Yamcha and Krillin, and… of course… Trunks with Gohan.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO promises to have super exciting 3D battles. Bandai Namco claims that these battles will match the vibe of the anime and manga. The game looks amazing, and the fighting moves are spot-on. I mean, just look at the trailer. This is one of the best-looking DBZ games. And yes, you can expect beam clashes, rush attacks, movements too quick for the eyes to see, and planet-razing ultimate attacks.

Now as I’ve already reported, this new DB game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. So, we can assume that it will be taking advantage of UE5’s Lumen. Moreover, you will be able to destroy your environments as you unleash your most devastating attacks.

For those wondering, there is no ETA on when the game will come out. And while you can Wishlist it on Steam, there aren’t any PC system requirements for it.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

    1. I mean considering Toriyama was involved with both Super and Daima up till his passing, I feel like we’re not gonna see the real milking till the Super Manga ends.

  1. But what is it exactly?
    A sequel to Dragon Ball FighterZ? A stand-alone spin-off? A DLC?
There are so many Dragon Ball games, I’m a bit lost.
I haven’t played a Dragon Ball game since the Gameboy Advance.🤣

    1. This is a successor to the successor of the Budokai series of Dragon Ball Games. The original Budokai was closer to a 3D fighter like Tekken. The spin off Budokai Tenkaichi became more of an arena style that most anime battle games have adopted since its release in order to accomodate developing move sets for the huge roster. Sparking Zero emulates that Budokai Tenkaichi style but will have modern technology and possibly as much content as the more recent Xenoverse games that include not only Toryiama’s original DB works from Dragonball through Super but a lot of the spin off stuff from the Movies, GT, Xenoverse, Fusions and Heroes lines.

      1. you know, I only played the tenkaichi budokai 3, so I’m confused what’s the difference between tenkaichi budokai and budokai tenkaichi series? and now that I typed that, I’m not even sure if the one I played was TB rather than BT… that’s how confusing they are…

and on that matter, what even the difference between them above with the Xenoverse and Kakarot games? because as far as Ive seen them, they’re all the same? and now we got another new name for a game that look a lot like those names that came before… ffs, this is insanity…

        1. are you mentally ret*rded? you’ve played the third game of what? it is the budokai tenkaichi 1, 2 and 3, you’ve played the third game, it’s the budokai tenkaichi series… This will be the fourth game in the series.

        2. So it was originally just Dragon Ball Z Budokai. This version had 3 Titles from 1 through 3. It was focused on being closer to a traditional 3D fighter but still had the hype from the series.

With the roster Ballooning and the company wanting to capitalize on its popularity they changed to a less competively balanced and more arena style fighter that was spun off into Budokai Tenkaichi. This style would also be what most anime fighters would model going forward and Budokai Tenkaichi also lasted 3 iterations.

When Dragon Ball stopped airing there was a decline in popularity and instead of Continuing the series they ended it and did other spin offs with different developers to varying success. One big issue was that players were getting fatigued with replaying the exact same content over and over again. The tenkaichi series had plenty of what ifs and additional content that made it memorable for fans far past its end.

One of those spin offs was the Xenoverse games that took the style of the tenkaichi games added rpg elements and created its own storyline and multiverse that reworked the traditional story and blended it with elements from all over the franchise for something totally new.

Kakarot takes the rpg style from xenoverse but brings it back down to original story of Goku and some side stories.

I hope this helps. At the surface the games do look similar but I think original fans of the fighters budokai and tenkaichi may have been intimidated by the more action rpg styled games of xenoverse and kakarot so sparking zero is a return to the more fighting focused style of gameplay.

  2. I hate the English voices for this show so much, how could Burgerstanis watch it like this?

  3. Sparking Zero is gonna be so cool until they charge us for half the content. We still havent seen a ton of DB or GT characters, not to mention all the stuff from super that they can also charge for.
