SEGA has revealed the official PC system requirements for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. In addition, the publisher revealed that the game will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
SEGA has used Denuvo in pretty much all of its latest PC releases. So, the inclusion of it in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance was almost a given.

Sega, is basically gaming cancer these days.
I called this instantly the other day when SMT V was announced for PC. Not because I’m a prophet or anything, but because Sega is basically gaming cancer these days.
time to pirate the switch version dumb atlus.
Japanese developers are the king of adding DRM and microtransactions. And weebs are falling over each other to defend it.
Tekken 8 is adding microtransactions.
Weebs are defending it.
Yakuza makes NG+ a paid DLC.
Weebs are defending it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is adding like 6 layers of DRM.
Weebs are defending it.
I dont think anyone defends these actions. Its just that its been shown time and time again that we cannot stop the majority of them. Plenty of hugely popular Western games get DRM and MTX too. Sadly I think some people are just blackpilled on the state of the gaming ecosystem after seeing so many of the beloved titles fall victim to any of their modern day trappings so that if something familiar can even promise a relatively soothing time they’ll go along with it. Its absolutely deplorable that IW is charging for “on disc” content as low effort as a new game+ mode as we have faced this battle already years ago with Capcom, but im sure most people who have helped make it the fastest selling game in the series dont agree with the practice.
Honestly at this point I kinda wish companies would just show how much they are saving in “theft” by paying for Denuvo. I understand and support the plight against intrusive DRM but I’d be lying if I said I’d ever felt the negative impact of Denuvo just yet. I imagine that even the management and execs know that it does nothing but annoy consumers but still need to show shareholders that they are doing anything to combat piracy. Like is there anything tangible they can even show especially considering these games get cracked before they come out officially or are cracked within a week or two.
For Sega, I think this just solidifies that you shouldn’t buy an SMT or Persona game day one anymore since there is always going to be Enhanced/Definitive/Director’s Cut Edition like 80%-90% of the time. Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5 Royale, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker, Devil Survivor Overclocked and now SMT 5 V. At least SMT4A story was different enough to warrant a new title but they’ve already confirmed that 5V will be mostly the same as base 5 up till an undisclosed point.
Just glad I was able to hold off till this release and maybe I’ll just wait till its on further sale or on gamepass.
I don’t recall any hard evidence that adding Denuvo increases sales very much by forcing those that would pirate the game to buy it instead because it isn’t cracked. I don’t think that it can be proven conclusively how much additional sales comes from using Denuvo. imo Denuvo is just something that Publishers can put before the investors to be able to say that they are actively fighting piracy.
Somebody essentially help to make significantly articles Id state This is the first time I frequented your web page and up to now I surprised with the research you made to make this actual post incredible Fantastic job
you are truly a just right webmaster The site loading speed is incredible It kind of feels that youre doing any distinctive trick In addition The contents are masterwork you have done a great activity in this matter
One of many reasons modern day gaming has simply no value to me. Bigger the devs and publishers, worse the games are. Only Indie devs are meaningful nowadays.
