Beyond Good & Evil Remastered has just been rated by the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee

It appears that Ubisoft is currently working on a remastered version of Beyond Good & Evil. And just yesterday, the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee rated this game.

For those wondering, the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee is a reliable source of leaks. After all, their rating leaked the GTA Trilogy way before Take-Two and Rockstar officially announced it. The same thing happened with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. In short, yes. This rating is actually legit.

From what we know, Beyond Good & Evil Remastered will have updated graphics and a number of other improvements. And… well… that’s all we know about it.

Beyond Good & Evil is a game that a lot of PC gamers love. And while its sequel has been in development hell, it’s at least good to have a remastered version of it. I just hope that these graphical upgrades will be meaningful.

Some rumors suggested that this remaster would come out in 2024. However, I wasn’t able to find anything that could back them up. For what it’s worth, Ubisoft hasn’t made any official statements as of yet.

Lastly, since this is Ubisoft we’re talking about, I suggest tempering your expectations. And no, I don’t expect this remaster to have any Ray Tracing effects. Let’s at least hope that we’ll get better textures and better controls.

Stay tuned for more!

    1. tbh I really don’t think BG&E 2 can ever possibly turn out well. It’s been in development for over 15 years (even longer than the previous record Duke Nukem Forever) and cancelled and delayed numerous times. In addition Ubisoft has lost several key people involved in the project.

imo Ubisoft really just needs to take the game out in the woods and bury it somewhere and put an end to it once and for all and stop dragging the BG&E name through the mud.

The first one was a classic imo and still worth a playthrough for anyone who hasn’t and I’m interested in seeing more from the remaster. Maybe for another playthrough.

        1. Unless I got something mixed up this is what I found. Skull and Bones started development in 2013 and released 2024. Duke Nukem Forever started development in 1997 and released 2011.

So 11 years for Skull and Bones and 14 years for Duke Nukem Forever.

Edit: You might be thinking of most number of times delayed. Yes, I think Skull and Bones holds that record. I even read somewhere that the game won a Guinness Record for that. I didn’t know Guinness had one of those.

    2. If you’re still expecting this sequel to be any good you’re just blind, even expecting anything positive from Ubisoft is naive AF

    3. It’s in development hell. The original creative director, Michel Ancel, left the whole gaming industry after his coworkers accused him of his toxic leadership whereas the guy who replaced him, Emile Morel, passed away last year.

I think you’re the only one in this universe expecting RT on every remaster, at this point and after so many debacles most people are just expecting a decent remaster

That’s being generous. When it comes to remasters + remakes they immediately fall into the “wait and see” pile since more often than not there’s a great chance that they’ve been censored. Eg remake of Destroy All Human 2 removed a “transphobic” quest; PS5/Xb Series remaster of GTA V removed “transphobic” jokes + NPCs, censoring bikini girl pin-ups in cutscenes; Yakuza 3 remaster removed a “transphobic” quest. I’m quite surprised that they let the recent Tomb Raider trilogy remaster come out as well as it did, it is ~99.9% uncensored.

    1. The original PC version has many issues on modern hardware like graphical glitches and softlock problems that forces you to use an external fan-made tool to patch your saves to progress further in the game.
No to mention the horrible KB/M controls and the very basic controller support

      1. The people at GOG must have fixed any issues, it runs flawlessly for me and pretty much everyone else.

It has an excellent 4.6/5 review score on GOG (and GOG scores are pretty brutal, even a minor issue usually tanks to the score of a game).

        That’s not to say I wouldn’t enjoy a remaster.

But it would have to be DRM-free for me to even consider it, and I suspect Ubisoft won’t release it DRM-free.

        1. Don’t have to suspect anything, since they knew Denuvo Ubisoft never ever skipped it or even removed it for one of their games, and just to say, those scores are for the game itself, its technical issues won’t vanish, just check the PCGamingWiki page of the game, you’ll see by yourself that it’s riddled with problems

  2. Back in the day they where allowed to make a mildly attractive racially ambiguous protagonist. Nowadays they can’t even release it’s woke sequel out of dev hell.

    1. Funny you say that because one of the major reasons this game became cult classic was the non white female protagonist.

  3. Just wish to say your article is as surprising The clearness in your post is just cool and i could assume youre an expert on this subject Fine with your permission allow me to grab your RSS feed to keep updated with forthcoming post Thanks a million and please keep up the enjoyable work
