Batman: Arkham City just got an Insane Difficulty Mod

Modder ‘GPUnity’ has just released an Insane Difficulty Mod for the second Batman Arkham game, Batman: Arkham City. This mod will significantly increase the game’s difficulty. This mod is ideal for those who want an extra challenge in this Batman game. So, if you are one of them, this mod is for you.

The Knightfall Overhaul mod makes Batman: Arkham City more challenging by reducing the time you have for counters. It also allows enemies to deal more damage. Plus, it makes stealth parts of the game harder. Oh, and just so you know, this mod only works on Hard Difficulty and NG+ Modes. It does not make any changes to the challenge map difficulty.

You can download the mod from this link. Below you can also find a couple of showcase videos for it. These videos can give you a glimpse at what you can expect from it.

Now what’s interesting here is that GPUnity has hinted at another mod for Batman: Arkham City. At the end of the second video, the modder claims that Batman: Arkham City Overhaul will be his next one. Sadly, I don’t have any more details about it. In theory, it should be a new HD Texture Pack, similar to Batman: Arkham City Redux.

I recently played Batman: Arkham City again with the Redux HD Texture Pack, and it’s awesome. The game still looks pretty good thanks to this pack. Okay okay. Its 3D character models feel a bit old compared to Batman: Arkham Knight. Still, Arkham City is a fun game. With today’s powerful PC hardware, the PhysX effects in the game can run smoothly, even at 4K resolution. My RTX4090 was pushing over 100fps, without being used to its fullest. It’s amazing to see all those effects running so smoothly. However, there’s one downside – the game still has some issues with traversal stutters, and unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do about them.

Anyway, enjoy the following videos and stay tuned for more!

    1. Use DXVK GPLAsync
    2. Disable smooth framerate in ini

It will reduce the hitching drastically.

    1. My man, always good to see you helping other people around here by recommending DXVK-GPLAsync’s Vulkan goodness!

AFAIR, you’re a Fedora user on the Linux front, right?

Then, you might be interested in checking out the newest Nobara 39 release, since it’s based on Fedora but tweaked for a better gaming experience out of the box.

      Hope you find it useful…

      Cheers!
