GFA Games has shared a short but sweet gameplay video for its upcoming MMORPG that is visually inspired by the STALKER and Metro games, PIONER. Moreover, GFA Games hinted at more news to be shared on December 20th.

For some reason, the Twitter post is not showing up. I don’t know what’s up with this. You can view the video if you click on it. And sadly, there isn’t any alternative link to it. So yeah, this sucks for those that hate Twitter/X.
In PIONER, your main goal is survival and exploration of a dangerous PVE and PVP world. According to the game’s description, the developers will pay special attention to the events, factions and quests in which players will take part.
Players will be able to team up with other adventurers and act as a group. As such, they will be able to explore anomalies, confront hunters from other factions and run special missions. Additionally, players will be able to build outposts, improve their equipment, and establish trade routes.
Now I know what some may say. This is another “The Day Before scam“. And that’s a really inaccurate statement. GFA Games has been constantly sharing details and screenshots for this game. Now whether it will be able to meet its goal is a completely different story.
In July, the team shared some preliminary PC requirements for PIONER. According to them, an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or NVIDIA GTX 1650 with 6GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3-6100 can run it with 60fps at 1080p. For 4K/60fps, the team suggested an NVIDIA RTX 2060. Again, these are early PC requirements.
GFA Games plans to release PIONER in 2024.
Enjoy the gameplay video and stay tuned for more!

I’m a simple man, I see the word “MMO,” I add it to the trash list.
I used to be like that too, but I did eventually discover some fun MMORPG’s. Tera for instance has good combat and fun gameplay, it just got boring after a while due to the typical MMORPG formula of “go here and kill X number of monsters, then rinse and repeat”. Black Desert also had good combat, but was even more boring to me, and had some very complicated gameplay mechanics that I never really understood.
Star Trek Online is reasonably fun until you reach the end-game. The ship combat is decent, and for ground combat they have a “shooter mode” that makes it play more like a third-person shooter than a tab-targeting MMORPG.
its funny how you say you used to be like that, but then point out what is the issue with mmo style games and how similar and lazy their gameplay is and then you recommend a game i have played and i know for a fact its not that good, the shooter mode is also rpg based.
The “shooter mode” in Star Trek Online is just a crosshair that tells the game to target whatever you’re aiming at, just like in Elder Scrolls Online (an admittedly boring as sh*t MMORPG). It’s not meant to replace the game’s RPG mechanics, but just to alter how you target enemies to make it play more like a third-person shooter, that way you’re not tab targeting (which is one of the most obnoxious things about classic MMORPG games).
sto dead to me after that horrific discovery show. i havent played since five years and i was a big fan.
Yeah, Discovery was horrible. I watched the first season, and it was so bad that even seeing the Enterprise at the end of the last episode couldn’t make me come back for more… The only good thing that came out of that show was the Constitution class redesign, which looks pretty nice.
As for STO, they added some Discovery themed content that was stupid, but the majority of the game can be played while ignoring it.
like you i also watched season 1 and after seeing jason isaac die i stopped watching. also i checked later expansions beyond age of discovery its mostly theme for women, women and more women like they went full agenda.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate that modern TV is like that, even on these stupid streaming services. If you’re not pro-feminist, pro-gay, and pro-trans then there’s nothing new for you to watch. Worse yet you’re not even allowed to speak up about how you don’t like that kind of extremist left-wing content. Speak your mind on YouTube and you’re not eligible for monetization and you can get canceled, speak your mind on Twitch and you get banned, speak your mind on Facebook and you get banned, etc…
I’m a complex man. I hate MMO’s but this looks promising, so I’m not as stubborn as simple men
interesting
aaaaand dropped
Lol I saw the picture and was instantly excited, read MMORPG and sighed hard.
The teaser did state you can play SP though…

There you go, its slower than twiter though.
I love the way this looks, but its a mmo so i dont care, its not just the always online aspect and having to interact with other players, its that its probably gonna be designed with mmo grinding and randomized quest and social features in it like most mordern games.
the most subtle and slightest mention of the term MMO (massively moderated obsession) is an instant turn off for me, even back in the day when we used to beat the shy kid at our school i liked to do it solo or with 2 or 3 buddies of mine.
I do like Stalker and Metro games. I’m going to watch this as it develops. The one thing that could ruin it for me is if it turns out to have rankings and stats. Then the cheaters roll in and turn a game to sh*t imo. I always have the question, did I get killed because my opponent is just better than me or did I get killed because he’s not but he used hacks? I’m fine with losing because someone else is better than me. There will always be some that are better than me but I never know which it is. Takes the fun out of it for me.
Any time that there are rankings and stats there will be cheaters. Hell, there were cheaters using scripts back in the late 90s on Yahoo Games to cheat at checkers, chess and backgammon just for top stats. That was utterly pathetic but some people have no sense of honesty and fair play in games. You might as well have played against the computer offline.
MMO? What a waste, this looks like it has promise too.
mmo = timesink
lol dude. The irony of you self-facepalming you is out of this world 🙂
What ?
This was beautiful Admin. Thank you for your reflections.
why anybody in his right mind would make an MMO
@John, the twitter image is working for me, but maybe you/its been fixed since the opriginal post..?
I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great. I don’t know who you are but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!
