GameInformer has shared a video, showcasing 21 minutes of gameplay from the new PoP game, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This gameplay video will give you an idea of what you can expect from this new action adventure platformer.
In this game, players will assume the role of Sargon; a young warrior, and member of an elite group called The Immortals. So no, players will not control the prince. Instead, players will go to rescue Prince Ghassan, and explore Mount Qaf.
Inspired by the Metroidvania structure, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown lets players explore a handcrafted world at their own pace. Players will acquire new time powers, unlock unique abilities, and combine them in combat. The game will also have puzzles, secrets and side quests.
Ubisoft will release Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on January 18th, 2024.

Ehh given how this looks like a mobile game at best (both artistically and technically), I don’t think even the general public will be rushing to preorder this. If it had shiny graphics and was part of a big franchise (such as the upcoming jewbisoft soy wars game), then it’d likely sell.
The new 2.5D “Nocturnal” is more close to the real PoP than this trash.

This is also their current subversion. They are making it normal to not be able to play as the titular character so if this gets some success, they will force you to play as a str0nk independent b*cth d*ke of persia in the sequel.

Why is there so much hate for this game? I’m seeing ppl complain about colour palette and the character not being the prince. I don’t mind the colours but I get the part about deviation from the established main character. Other than that haircut, the game looks cool, no? A nice platformer. I guess maybe I’m not that attached to the PoP franchise…

Also,they lack minimum bussines model(games stoped being made for players somewhere in 2006,when first paid dlc was an option in ES:Oblivion,and from there gaming=money,2023/present is enough proof for this,from microtransactions to rushed and broken launches)
Remember when almost everyone said that Valhalla is the worst,well had the most sales,from bussines point is a success,as a game Syndicate is more AC than Odyssey and Valhalla combined.
Also,gamers nowdays have standards,yet they lack the one important rule(never go full retard/don’t fall for it).
I buy maybe 2 or 3 games(full price/AAA tiles)/year…because if is something i don’t like,instead of buying/not buying yet complain,hate it on forums and such,i decide to not “INVEST” my time,money and mental health in something i don’t like.
Some are unable to pass the evolution test,or i’m just old enough to see what A CORPORATION stands for(for your money not your happy place)
This game tough is nice,not a Prince of Persia tough(i loved Prince of Persia Warrior Within,for many reasons,too many to point yet so less games had those reasons that kept PoPWW high on scale)it’s an fantasy mobile game that can be sold for max 15$.
