Modder ‘Zombie2358’ has released a Definitive Edition Mod for DRIV3R that is a must-have for everyone that wants to replay this old Driver game.
DRIV3R Definitive Edition fixes a lot of issues that plagued the PC version. Moreover, it introduces some new HD textures and improves the draw distance for some objects. Furthermore, it packs a number of UI improvements, as well as fixes for interiors, EAX and Graphics Layers.
In future versions, the modder plans to improve the game’s LOD and fully implement Cop Boats. Additionally, Zombie2358 plans to add HD Vehicles Interiors.

Trash game, no argument possible, but damn driving physics are better than what you have on most modern open world games
Trash? This game is amazing, just some stuff unfinished and janky, but the driving is amazing, as you admited and it is what you do most of the time.
The graphics were bad even for the time, the open world felt dated, and the shoot parts are horse sh*t, difficult to get around these issues
Forget the “open world”, this is a Driver game, this game is all about the thrill of the chase, and on that front the game is perfect. I agree with the shooting parts but thankfully that’s less than 10 per cent of the game content. The graphics is still nice, only problem i have is the draw distance of the civilian vehicles.
I always thought Driver 3 graphics was good. Compared to the GTA games, the game had very detailed car models (+realistic damage model including bullet holes), and realistic art style.

The only problem was framerate (especially on PS2, but even xbox version peformance wasnt good) and pop-in issues, but overall it was a decent looking game for sure.

Pretty much. A lot of people just dismiss this game based on games journalism gossip. I played this game a year ago and i still got impressed with the quality of the campaign, car handling, atmosphere, soundtrack, etc.
This game graphics aged like wine, on foot jankiness aside, it is an underrated gem.

Yep man! Graphics are still mind-blowingly good, they remind me of Doom 3’s graphics and both games came out in 2004.
FYI, Driver 3 was downgraded for the PS2 compared to the PC/Xbox versions, somewhat the same with Doom 3 which was never released for platforms other than PC/Xbox at the time due to being mind-blowingly good graphically.
The cars, physics, cities and lighting are the highlights. On the bad side are the human characters (that’s why they rely on CGI for cutscenes) and lack of day/night cycle.
Why mod a game that is never going to look any better than something you scrape of your shoes.
Go get your eyes checked.
Back when this game was new i kind of dismissed it for not being like gta (just played the first missions). The on-foot general gameplay and review scandals made me avoid this one for a long time.
But now that open world games are formulaic and bloated i revisited this one and got positively surprised, it’s a rough gem, driving is solid and the campaign is over in 3 to 5 hours, so the game doesn’t waste your time with bs.
Now this is fantastic news. Gonna check it right now. If only now we get fixes for chaos legion someday.

These kind of expectations didn’t do the game much favors, but if you liked the series it is a solid entry and dare i say the best they got up until that point.
I would gladly play if it was for the first game. Second was still fun, but this one is just cr4p. And then came that Parallel Lines to fvck everything up for good!
