Dead Island 2 gets an extended gameplay trailer

Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver have just shared an extended gameplay trailer for Dead Island 2. Today’s extended gameplay video kicks off the action at the very beginning of Dead Island 2 in Bel Air, Los Angeles.

As the press release reads:

“Armed with an array of weapons, each with their own unique, brutal fighting style and endless opportunities for upgrades, watch as slayer Dani meets Standard zombies (Walkers, Shamblers, Runners), Variant zombies (grenadier walkers), and Apex zombies (hyper mutated zombies), each one with its own horrifying powers and behaviors.”

Starring in the video is the slayer Dani, who hails from the mosh pits of County Cork, Ireland. Dani’s unique slayer build is well-suited to an agile style of combat. Her mission in this trailer is simple; try and reach the Halperin Hotel.

Players will also see how tapping into Curveballs and combining a powerful set of Skill Cards – which enhance abilities and create unique player builds – assist Dani as she hacks and slashes her way through the beginning areas of HELL-A.

For those wondering, Dead Island 2 will feature four slayers. These are Amy, Jacob, Dani and Ryan.

Dead Island 2 will take players across the most iconic locations of the City of Angels. Players will explore iconic, gore-drenched Los Angeles, and meet larger-than-life characters. Additionally, they will slay countless foes in exquisitely bloody detail, and evolve to become the ultimate Zombie Slayer.

Deep Silver will release Dead Island 2 on April 28th, 2023.

Enjoy!

  1. Zombies has levels now? so a zombie with level 50 has a neck made of steel and cant be beheaded with one strike? Damn!

    1. Yeah, noted that too and it’s too often nowadays a warning sign of fights getting more and more boring as the mobs just gets insane health pools instead of actual variety/difficulty – Whenever this is true here, guess the “not getting review copy for free” reviewers will tell.

Would seem the first had way better character choices too, small quick dagger girl and huge a*s 2h melee gorilla both really suited for their roles/gameplay. Now – A lil girly arm with muscles the size of noodles wields a big a*s sledgehammer like it’s nothing, it’s laughable how hard the game dev’s work to ruin any semblance of immersion these days.

    2. That was the case ever since the first Dead Island and Dying light. Its just an excuse to loot or buy higher level weapons.

  2. “infected but somehow immune to the virus”

    “set in LA”

“survivors that give CRAZY SIDEQUESTS to complete”

The gameplay looks like every game ever, i get flashbacks from every other game. Oh well at least it has guns in it unlike dying light 2. Also is it open world or hub like environments? Hope its hub environments better than open world every time.

    1. A shame too since the gameplay looks alright
Deep Silver pushed this sh*t, no doubt, this is the same exact cringy sh*t Saints Row did.

        1. Zombies games aren’t as saturated today as some years back.
I don’t understand the hate, they’re a good enemy and create a good setting.
They Are Millions was really fun for example.

I can’t call these AAA games RPGs, they have RPG elements and that’s about it, they’re a checkmark staple of that whoke industry nowadays but Dead Island was one of the first to games to implement it.

          1. zombies suck. Having zombies was cool at early to mid 2000s that all you had is zombie in source mods and road to fidel’s green, since then zombies are everywhere.

    2. at this point its so overused. Also i have seen that knights of the temple games multiple times in compilations of forgotten games but never played it.

    3. I mean Dead Island needs to have a tropical setting, so an exotic location like Malta, which has great history, and amazing architecture and is an islandcountry would be awesome, instead of fu**in unoriginal LA!

    4. Aren’t most Californian cities absolute cesspools, filled with homeless people shooting up on drugs?

      1. Yep, with tons of poo on the streets, tehre is stats on that, how many TONS of poo they clean every day

  3. Ba?ta Çerkezköy, Çorlu Havaland?rma ve Kapakl? olmak üzere tüm Trakya genelinde Havaland?rma Sistemleri Kurulum Montaj ve ?malat?, Fan Sistemleri, iklimlendirme sistemleri, scrubber, davlumbaz sistemleri gibi i?leri yapmaktay?z.

  4. Looks like sh*t. 5 zombies walking 1kph at you and standing there for you to swing your whatever at them… Snoozefest.

  5. perosnally i prefer talking characters, i hate silence in games, talking makes it more realistic
You dont have to play as punkbitch, it has a roster of characters to choose from.
The gore is the best so far, haven’t seen any games that have so many body damage points. even acid that melts skin
