      1. Guessing oblivion was the first one they played, tends to be how it goes. If I ranked them how I felt about them at launch I definitely have Morrowind on top. If I had to suggest one to someone who’s never played the series I’d have to go with Skyrim. The combat is super janky in Morrowind and the draw distance hides it’s size. I definitely think the setting was the best though. Can’t wait for Skywind in 2025.

        1. I played them in the order that they came out. You guys are missing the “For me” in my comment. I’m not saying that the games that I ranked are the best to worst ES games. Just what I enjoyed the most from first to last.

          1. Makes sense! I’ve played them all a couple times now at least. Here’s to hoping ES6 takes less than 10 more years to see the light of day.

        2. Same.
          1. Morrowind, for the deep gameplay. It feels like a real old-school RPG.
2-3. Not sure. I need to play Daggerfall – Unity more.
2-3. Skyrim + mods. (I don’t like it much without mods)
          4. Oblivion.

And yeah, Skyrim sure is the easiest for newcomers.
The draw distance in Morrowind can be fixed with mods, but it kinda alters its atmosphere.

          1. Yeah Morrowind needs the fog to maintain the illusion that it seems larger than it actually is. Still love it though. Actually I’ve liked the entire series. I just replayed Daggerfall using DFU last year. Definitely the definition of a mile wide and inch deep unless you can make up your own stories in your head.

  1. Seems a shame that with all the nice visuals that the character animations still look clunky but I guess thats a limitation of the original game
