Modder ‘BerZerker’ has released the Helios Texture Overhaul Mod for the first Deus Ex game. This mod will improve the textures for all characters. decorations and items and all addons for GMDX and Revision.
It’s also worth noting that this mod comes with 40 alternative outfits for JC. While I prefer the original outfit, I’m sure that some Deus Ex fans will find these alternative outfits kind of cool.
You can download the Helios Texture Overhaul Mod from here. Do note that you’ll need either the DX10 renderer (Kentie.net) or the DX11 renderer (Moddb.com).
Unfortunately, the modder has not shared any comparison video between the vanilla and the overhauled textures. However, you can find below some in-game screenshots.

I usually like HD textures but this one looks kind of weird.
This game definitely needs a remake.
why? So half the game is missing or in this case 75% of it and its dumbed down for stupids.
speaking of which this game predicted everything, thats because they talked to conspiracy theorists, nowadays everyone either whines about conspiracy theories being stupid or finds them stupid even though they rae happening.

I personally don’t have a problem with playing 20 years old games, I regularly play games older than that.

Nah, a “remake” would r4pe it like every remake does these days, you can’t try to reproduce such complex gem from an era where games were so much more mature.
It needs those “remaster +” where they enhance textures and models a bit plus the compatibility and HD stuff.
The original will be available anyway.
And that mentality is why we get trash remakes.
Edit: but yeah, at least it could make some kids with no standards happy.
I would rather have a small group of people recreate the game EXACTLY as it was using all the original audio but with a modern graphics engine, but not change a single thing about the plot, and try to keep the gameplay as close to the original as possible. If there is a remake by any corporation these days, J.C. Denton would end up being a black trans woman and they would never allow even a fraction of the ideas that are presented in the original.
Who wants a bad remake? If they are going to change the story or anything else better to leave it be.

No, mostly because the author of GMDX actively dislikes Revision and doesn’t want his mod associated with it in any way

No. I think he’s a douche because his reasons for not liking it. If you look it up the author stated he hates revision because it tarnishing the original game and isn’t faithful, but dude literally makes his own mod that changes the game. That’s the whole point to mods. Trying to take some high and mighty road saying your mod is better because it doesn’t change vanilla “that much” is ridiculous.
His fans ask him if he could just allow his mod to be included into revision so they can choose to use it or not. Revision literally has options to turn off what you don’t want, it already includes other mods too for you to use. But nope he won’t even work with the revision team because they are “bad”
So yeah .. sounds pretty douchey

yeah, aside from some new enviroments it kinda sucks. gmdx is much better.
God this game was so good, i remember playing it from start to finish in around 22 hours in one day with my dad watching me play some of that time. It was such a good experience
Frankly, I’m not impressed. The problem with all such mods is that their authors try somehow “improve” the original graphics rather than just make it sharper. They’re not faithful to the game.
I just installed it. There’s a “vanilla enhanced” option which is faithful to the default art design. You don’t need to choose the “reimagined” option.
