Modder ‘Red Panda’ has ported the first STALKER game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl to Unreal Engine 5, and shared a Test Build for it. As said, this is a test build and not the full game. Still, it will allow you to get a glimpse at the first STALKER game in Epic’s engine.
From the looks of it, Red Panda has ported the first area of the game. The Test Build already has some dialogue, an AI system, an inventory and a map.
Do note that this build is not that optimized, and uses the original assets. As such, you should not expect it to “wow” you with its graphics. After all, there is a reason Red Panda called it a “Test Build”.
What’s really important here is the potential of this project. In the future, we can expect this to take full advantage of Lumen and Nanite. Moreover, modders will be able to add new high-resolution textures and 3D models. Basically, we might get a free HD remaster/remake of this classic FPS game.
You can download the STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl in Unreal Engine 5 Test Build from here.
Have fun!

Wooow! And this could be done by one dev? ??
Yeah it’s a shabby port, but ahhh, just by watching a couple minutes of it you can tell how much soul and atmosphere this game had.
Take note kids, this is from when games had soul, identity, were new IPs (even if based on a novel), were original and took risks, were not full of cheese, were not a copy paste of the latest console trash trend, or the umpteenth cash grab sequel in a cash grab franchise. And of course, no forced online or microtransactions. You don’t realize but you don’t get this anymore.
Even as a shoddy Unreal Engine demo it still keeps the vibes.
I’m convinced that this site works for Epic & DLSS.
“Check out these amazing visuals in Unreal Engine 5 together with good framerates thanks to DLSS 3”
Pyke, it’s too early in the morning for you to be killing people with laughter. Let me ease into to the day first. That’s exactly how these articles usually are, you nailed it man. ???
So much good indie games completely ignored, but every UE5 trash demo made by a baboon in 1 hour gets an article, i don’t get the direction that DSOG is taking by becoming a full UE5 ad
Bruh… You just described it like not even I could. So much good gaming news. And all we get it’s what’s the hottest AI Mods for the same games, UE, DLSS & FXR. I use to go to just this site for it all. I made the mistake and came across other sites and it’s just loaded with great news. One night say, but John has a small team. Understandable, but doesn’t excuse the same need, different day angle.
I’m still trying to find such gaming news website. Most focus on heavy-hitters.
Yes, I’m sure some random modder decided to collude with Nvidia and Epic to port over the original Stalker game for…..nothing.
May as well just play the original with less lag. ????
it’s a “test version”, it’s not supposed to run good dude.
And much better graphics using mods!
Wow you can actually count the frames, and this horrible lighting… Play the original with Starter Pack if you just want a good experience without messing too much with mods, keep UE5 demos where they belong, in the trash
it’s a “test version”, it’s not supposed to have good framerates. do you not read?
It will remain a test version for eternity, if you think this trash will reach completion then you’re an absolute idiot
Get fcked with UE5 rest demos
This is just screaming potential!!!
Lost count of the amount of Unreal Engine Tech demo’s I’ve seen advertised recently. Sadly very few of them will come to fruition and even if they do not many of us can source or afford the cutting edge cards to run them.
Looks extremely low FPS.
Is the new Unreal 5 really that poorly performing?
Your article helped me a lot, is there any more related content? Thanks!
