Detroit Become Human feature 2

Detroit: Become Human surpasses 5 million sales thanks to its Steam release

Quantic Dream announced that Detroit: Become Human has surpassed 5 million units in sales across all platforms. This comes one month after the game’s release on Steam.

Quantic Dream launched Detroit: Community Play alongside Detroit: Become Human on Steam. Detroit: Community Play is an intuitive Twitch extension that allows streamers and their viewers to collectively make in-game decisions in real-time. The extension pioneers a new form of interactive engagement on Twitch, which has received a substantial amount of positive feedback from fans and has quickly grown in popularity among streamers and their communities. Nearly 500 streamers have already played with the poll-based Twitch overlay which has registered more than 1.5 million votes.

Guillaume de Fondaumière, Co-CEO and Head of Publishing at Quantic Dream, said:

“Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us. The response we’re seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets. We are also thrilled by the response garnered by the concomitant release of our Community Play extension for streamers and viewers on Twitch, which elevated a fundamentally single player game into a social experience.”

Contrary to Death Stranding, Detroit: Become Human has optimization issues on the PC. Moreover, the game used the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and came out first on Epic Games Store. However, Quantic Dream removed Denuvo when the game came out on Steam.

    1. Wow its almost like different people can enjoy different things and you arent the sole decider of whats good and bad….I know, weird right?

        1. I’d argue you fit into that exact group you just mentioned. The fact that you so aggressively mock and look down on people for liking something you dont is truly mind-boggling and pathetic at the same time so bravo for being that much of a scumbag, gotta give you the gold star there, kiddo. On to the second point, people are allowed to enjoy things out of your comfort zone. I honestly despise most walking simulators, doesnt mean I go for the throat on anyone who loves them. 4X games are bottom of my list consistently but I know people enjoy the crap out of them, thats fine. Fortnite…..I wish it would go away and never come back but i dont harass those who play it, I condescendingly ask “but why” sometimes but it never goes farther than that. Try growing up sometime, its better for you and everyone around you. Being a d*ck takes too much effort

    2. And don’t forget that f ucking $oyny is the biggest supporter of these low IQ POS “games”. Thanks $oyny for dumbing down GENERATIONS of gamers.

  1. I was very surprised by this game, it was much better than I thought it was going to be. If you like interactive story games like Telltales The Walking Dead. You should consider picking it up. Its the best of the three (Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain being the other two).

    1. Agreed, after playing all 3 again on PC you really see his improvements in each title but it really feels like he got the formula right with Detroit.

  2. I played it on ps4… I thought it started off really good. But the 2nd half of the game just didn’t do it for me

  3. After the last patches, the game it become unplayable. During the game, after few minutes, half screen become black, alt tabbing and change the window mode fix the problem, but after a couple of minutes the game crashing without no error.
Ah, almost forget, during the cutscene, sometimes goes for 1 fps for a minute.

I was lucky to finish the game months ago with 0 patch, never encounter a problem in that case, but now the game is completely broken, good job quantic dream.

    I have an rx5700 xt and r3600

  4. So they removed Denuvo from the game once it came to Steam and it still got higher sales than on EGS? Damn.
