GOG Galaxy 2.0 Epic Games Store

GOG GALAXY 2.0 gaming client now has official support and integration for Epic Games Store

GOG Galaxy 2.0 is a Steam-like service from CD Projekt, and the company today announced on Twitter that the GOG Galaxy 2.0 gaming client is getting official Epic Games Store/EGS integration. The GOG Galaxy 2.0 client allows you to manage all of your games in one place, regardless of where they were purchased, allowing you to browse, launch, and manage libraries in a single location.

Using an official plug-in, you can now have your Epic Games library show up in GOG Galaxy. Previously, GOG’s GALAXY 2.0 launcher only featured the Epic Games Store as an open-source, community integration. But now that Epic Games Store support is official, we should expect a more seamless experience between both the platforms, which means users no longer need to rely on community-built add-ons.

Simply put, GOG Galaxy Epic Games Store integration connects the two platforms together and allows you to launch Epic Games Store games directly from the GOG Galaxy. Here’s how you do it:

  • Click the ‘Settings’ gear in GOG Galaxy.
  • Head over to ‘Add Games & Friends’.
  • Select: ‘Connect Platforms’.
  • Press the ‘Connect’ button next to Epic Games Store, and then enter your EGS login credentials.
  • Once you’re done, your GOG Galaxy Epic Games Store integration should be complete!

This move makes the Epic Games Store the second storefront/library to be supported in Galaxy 2.0, following the official Xbox Live integration. We can even integrate Origin, PlayStation Network, Steam, and Uplay libraries, but this requires an unofficial community plug-in.

Steve Allison, General Manager of the Epic Games Store said. “It’s an important step towards breaking down walls between PC stores, as it enables a unified experience for players to manage their PC games library independent of where their games were purchased.”

“The new official integration is the latest addition to GOG GALAXY 2.0, which we’re constantly improving with features requested by gamers. One of the recently added was the ability to see all your gaming subscriptions in one place. It helps gamers to conveniently browse, install, and launch games from an overwhelming amount of titles available on each subscription.”

GOG’s Senior Vice President Oleg Klapovsky added, “We’re happy to add to GOG GALAXY 2.0 the official integration with Epic Games Store, which is the second most connected external platform in the app”. “Together with GOG.COM and Xbox Live, those official integrations are bringing a more seamless and reliable experience to gamers.”

GOG Galaxy 2.0 is available on Windows as a free download. You just need to make an account to access all the features and link your other accounts to this service. As of now, we don’t know when other official integrations will arrive next on GOG Galaxy 2.0, but CD Projekt is busy working on new features including a ‘games discovery’ feature that will let you follow all the upcoming releases, and discover games popular among your friends and the gaming community.

  1. I like the idea of and what GOG is doing… But i only play 1 game at a time and don’t really need to see all my games on a single screen. Not a complaint. Just talking. But it’s cool for people with massive library’s that might forget what games they own

    1. You don’t even have to see them all on a single screen. You make completely hide, rearrange and bookmark your games.

Such an amazing launcher they we’ve PC gamers needed for a loong time.

      1. GOG galaxy is good but Playnite launcher is 10x better then GOG galaxy , it has more customization and is completely free to use and is more resource friendly then any launcher i have used soo far

  2. No need for this as you should be pirating Epic’s exclusives, while using GOG/Steam for everything else.

    Epic, make piracy great again.

    1. I don’t even know how epic’s launcher looks like, i have no clue, never seen it in my life. not even a picture or a video of it.

        1. F* Win 10!!
Im on Linux where most new games work great via Proton, and for my ole Win games have Win 7!

  3. One thing I wouldnt want to have is epic games, but its funny I just take free games from them, AND I LL NEVER SPEND MONEY THERE LOL. Giving money to chinese ???? no thx

    1. Well considering the cut… its more like give more of the money to the ones making the titles. CDN today is quite cheap so Valve keeping the same cut since when it was expensive is frankly greedy, fully understand dev’s that looks for other ways to cut the excessive cost.

On Sony/MS’s console platforms that same cost covers part of the subbed consoles hardware… how much hardware have Valve given it’s customers?

Dont get me wrong, i love Steam and think its a great store but its cut is way to high regarding to todays cost to provide the products.

  4. Launching the exe directly used to bypass all that when extras like hud/achievements/time tracking etc was disabled… the features that obviously require internet

    1. Sounds like some devs need to learn how to code then. Bet some bool or similar variable/datatype are set whenever its online or offline mode and they likely missed a check or 100

  5. Epic Games Store has done so much irreparable damage to their reputation, in the eyes of hardcore PC gamers, that no amount of fake good gestures can undo that.

    1. Yes knowing that America has issues whiout proof with huwaei and being occupied trying to block Huawei but they forget they have a extremely worst and dangerous… Tencent, the fraud company

      1. Apple, Samsung, Huawei… are all the same, they want your money and your soul. This people own your face, your fingerprint, your conversations, your deep secrets… for FREE… Man they know you better than you know yourself. Steam, Epic Store, GOG… are all the same, they own us and we own nothing.

    1. but you can’t officially add roms to GOG galaxy easily without messing with plugins. How playnite looks worse ? you can customize it as much as you want , in playnite the grid section even has a preset to make ur library look like GOG galaxy .You also are not able to chat with steam friends on gog galaxy launcher besides GOG community is not as big as steam , my friend list in gog galaxy is a ghost town lol .Only advantage GOG galaxy have that everything u do is synced in ur account and that i admit is a huge plus point .

  6. I would have thought official integration with Steam would have been a better use of GoGs time.
