For a long time, PC gamers have been waiting patiently for a new Splinter Cell game. And, from the looks of it, the wait will be over soon. As The Information reported, Ubisoft is indeed working on a new Splinter Cell game. However, there is a catch. According to the report, this new Splinter Cell game will be a VR title.
The Information notes that Facebook has already signed deals for exclusive VR versions of Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.
“Facebook hopes that seeding Oculus with popular game franchises will help attract more people to buy its VR headsets—which have so far been only moderately successful—and increase the amount of time spent on the social network’s platform.”
What’s also interesting is that Luca Ward (famous italian voice actor who voices Sam Fisher in almost every Splinter Cell) has confirmed a new Splinter Cell game. According to Luca Ward, this new Splinter Cell game will come out in 2021.
As Luca Ward said:
“There is this Splinter Cell return that will be back with a final chapter, not sure about this, but they didn’t know if doing this in 2021. It was a 2020 project, but then something happens and severe big projects stopped in 2020.”
Now if we put two and two together, we can safely assume that a new Splinter Cell VR game will come out in 2021.
Stay tuned for more!

Splinter Cell….Gender Neutral in Wheel Chair Special Operative LGBT Agent….anything less than that i will not touch!
That was gay.
did you just assume Sam’s gender ????!!!!
I am outraged , Sam is gender fluid
The far left liberals aren’t going to stop until we are all LGBT here in the USA.

It’s surprising when you see the actual number of LGBT people here in the USA. A Gallup poll showed less than 4% were LGBT. A lot of media is catering to less than 4% of the population. Among the straight people in the poll the average was that they believed that 24% were LGBT. It’s because so much media is pushing LGBT. It’s silly.
Everyone likes to consider California having the most LGBT (4.8%) but Washington DC far exceeds them with 8.6% in the poll.
Washington DC far exceeds them with 8.6% in the poll
Not surprising. You can’t impose your depravity on a nation without power.
Nothing wrong with wheelchairs.
Why they hate Sam Fisher so much?
Well there has been a trend over the last few years to hate on straight white male protagonists. And Ubisoft has been making some ethical changes to their department quite evidently.
Now we can experience Sam’s back pain IRL.
Let’s pretend we didn’t read this and i hope there will be a proper next gen splinter cell ON A NEW ENGINE THIS TIME UBISOFT
Even Unreal Engine 3 would be a dramatic improvement.
it’s unrealistic to expect an Unreal 5 SC but one can only dream
you better get your nvg on by bopping your head up and down like in the old games….and wall split when you jump.
Once again Splinter Cell haven’t had a real game and it been since 7 YEARS. They kill off the franchise like they did with Prince of Persia which is replaced by @ss Bored.
Blacklist and Conviction weren’t ‘real games’ either, they were overly accessible trash. The last good one was 15 years ago.
Those were at least passion projects compared to a lot of the stuff coming out today. I’d rather have a Conviction type of experience over a VR one.
Of course you would, which is why the gaming industry is so full of garbage + simplified sequels.
You totally missed the point.
I missed the point that you’d settle for garbage either way? How profound.
Well that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to your opinion. A lot of the games from past generations which people considered to be generic or average back then are now looking a lot more enticing than the ones coming out today, with some exceptions of course.
For me, no doubt I’d rather play a game that actually feels feature complete but doesn’t necessarily offer the challenges we’d expect from it than an overpriced title that lacks any challenge at all and feels more like a cinematic or a tech demo treat.
Conviction and Blacklist may have been designed to be a lot more accessible than its predecessors but to say it was garbage seems highly dismissive. They were made by passionate developers and it showed.
Let me quote for you, one of the passionate developers of Conviction. Keep in mind this is Splinter Cell they were talking about:
“stealth is punitive, stealth is slow. It was funny, because when you watch the movies they’re not that. James Bond and Jason Bourne run fast, they don’t make noise, they kill one, two, three or four guys super quickly and silently with a sound suppressor, so it’s a lot more dynamic. So we needed to do something with that.”
I guess ruining a franchise to the point that they don’t even make them anymore is irrelevant because they were passionate.
Trying to do something new with a formulaic design doesn’t mean they lack passion or respect for whatever franchise. Although it can be the case depending on the studio lead’s perspective. They were inspired from those movies since they were the biggest hype around that time. I think personally the game would have garnered more appreciation from old school fans and newcomers alike if they didn’t go entirely overboard with the extreme changes to the mechanics.
Perhaps for a Splinter Cell game it tried to differentiate itself too much from past titles which isn’t always a good thing. The game still had stealth and it played a pivotal role to the experience, even if it was simplified. Obviously like you I would want future SC games to be like the older titles, so I’m not denying that the older games were greater overall.
I don’t know how Blacklist turned out since I never played it but I heard it fixed or improved a lot of those issues with Conviction despite how much Sam has changed. And I do think the reason why the franchise has taken a long break since the last title is due to all the changes happening in the industry. Less to do with the success or criticism of Conviction and Blacklist. The lack of enthusiasm for single player games has taken a toll on all the big companies out there.
By that logic, a Pong clone could be the next Splinter Cell so long as they have ‘passion’ while trying to do something ‘new’.
The only people those changes could appeal to were those who never liked Splinter Cell’s mechanics to begin with. The mark and executions, the ‘panther’ crap, the changing of the lead voice (and so on) were the antithesis of everything that the series once stood for. To you, some of these things might be okay to change, to me, they are as ridiculous as making it a Pong clone. It lost all sense of identity when they tried to appeal to a broader audience.
None of this is to mention that they’ve done the same thing to all of their Tom Clancy IP. Rainbow Six went from being a tactical shooter to a cover shooter, to a concept so bad that they cancelled it, and now to an arcade shoot em up with characters that are basically super heroes.
Anyway, I’m off to play Minecraft, The Witcher, Red Dead, The Elder Scrolls, Resident Evil, Zelda, Sekiro, TLOU, Stardew Valley, Horizon, God of War, Jedi Fallen Order, Half Life Alyx, Disco Elysium, and I don’t know… a thousand other single player games that take their toll on big companies.
I mean, there have only been 12 single player Assassin’s Creed games from the same company since Blacklist released, so I take your point.
vr is for autistic nerds, no healthy human being cares about it.
VR ‘games’?
so they finally found a way to ruin SC with microtransactions and RPG element
ubisoft love destroying there own franchise nice good job keep up
really hyped & waiting for Splinter cell, AC series is over for me many yrs ago, just another milking franchise
Man I hate this. I bought a VR specifically to play Half-Life: Alyx but I’m sure not many people were asking for a VR Splinter Cell. I don’t mind a separate standalone game as long as we can get a traditional flat screen version similar to the older titles.
And this is being reported literally after the creative director of Splinter Cell: Conviction got terminated. Like only a few months after returning back to Ubisoft to direct the next game. What’s going on over there?
i dont like splinter cell games,, so dont care about that game + it’s in VR.. lmao
I have a strong feeling you might be playing as a feminazi/LGBTQ+ character…and Sam Fisher will have cameos on the side where he is just a support/backup operative under the new “progressive” leadership!
It will be his daughter, like what happened with the Die Hard or Taken movies.
