Here are the official PC system requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft has revealed the official PC system requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator. According to the specs, PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or an Intel i5 4460 CPU. Moreover, they’ll need at least 8GB of RAM, 150GB of free hard-disk space and a 5Mbps Internet Connection.

Microsoft has listed the AMD Radeon RX 570 and the NVIDIA GTX770 as the minimum GPUs. However, the team recommends using an AMD Radeon RX 590 or an NVIDIA GTX 970. It also recommends having a 20Mbps Internet Connection so yeah.

Ideally, Microsoft Flight Simulator will require an Intel i7 9800X or an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X. 32GB of RAM are also listed as “Ideal” requirements, with the game being installed on an SSD. Microsoft also lists an NVIDIA RTX2080 and an AMD Radeon VII as the ideal GPUs for running the game. Lastly, the team lists 50Mbps Internet Connection.

There is currently no ETA on when Microsoft Flight Simulator will come out. Below you can find the game’s full PC system requirements.

      1. I assume that’s for 4K 60 fps. The large data requirements are steep but understandable given the massive amount of data being streamed in at any given point.

        1. Many (more) “triple-A” games will soon recommend 16GB of system memory, so it would be best to stay ahead of the curve with 32GB.

      1. CoD takes 170 gb??? Wtf are their programmers doing there’s no reason a game that small needs that much data.

Unless they aren’t doing any compression at all which is just dumb.

        1. since the start of this gen(ps4/xbox one) their games takes huge disk spaces
black ops 4 is around 160gb with all the contents released so far
WW2 is 50+ gb as a repack so add around 50% more size more or less
black ops 3 get around or even above 100gb with all contents
          infinite warfare 90+gb

and i agree there is no reason for them to have such sizes they probably dont do any compression whatsoever anymore, its a far cry from last gen when their games were pretty light with mw3 being the most sizable one 16.3 gb!!!

          1. Probably uncompressed data to free some CPU cycles and make the game work on consoles and low-end PCs at 60 fps

  1. man ram requirements have never been right, they’ve been telling me i need 16gb for years now and i get away with 8gb. i guess 16 would be good enough for this.

    1. I dont know who “they” is but nobodies been saying 16 gig for years. In fact a few experts have literally just started to call for 16gigs not so much for right now but the near future.

  2. Not that is matter much for your cpu, higher resolutions take the load from the cpu to the gpu

But i think you will be fine i also have this cpu

*You meant 9700k there is not such thing 9770k.

    1. Total textures in this game are around 2 PB (2000 TB) so yeah, downloading textures on/off throughout your gameplay basically.

    1. ??? This is ignorance… The total textures in this game are around 2 PB (2000 TB), so it downloading textures on/off throughout your gameplay basically.

  3. It’s weird with the ideal spec rec, why HEDT Cpu’s? Does the game require their specific instruction sets?

    1. Mainly to stream textures, simply because no consumer hardware has that amount of drive space – several petabytes.

    2. The total textures in this game are around 2 PB (2000 TB), so it downloading textures on/off throughout your gameplay basically.

  4. Much lighter than i thought, im mostly ideal i have 32 ram and a 8gb gpu(gtx 1080) and install most of the newest games on an ssd.

But my cpu is 9700k with only 8 cores i guess this game will be have a very good multithread optimisisation, because the 9700k beats the 2700x in all games even multithreaded ones.

But when they mean ideal is it at 4k? 60+fps at ultra with all draw distance sliders at 100%?

  5. “It also recommends having a 20Mbps Internet Connection so yeah.”

BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA………. f**k you, and your “service” garbage, M$.

    1. The thing is, total textures in this game are around 2 PB (2000 TB), so it downloading textures on/off throughout your gameplay basically….

    2. The thing is, total textures in this game are around 2 PB (2000 TB), so it downloading textures on/off throughout your gameplay basically….

    1. Im guessing Ideal is for those playing on a 4K setup, it explains why a higher (50Mbps) bandwitdth is needed for streaming in those UHD textures.

  6. Apart from the disk space and bandwidth requirements, the recommended specs are much lower than I was expecting. Im assuming it streams in textures like Google Earth does which would explain the higher Bandwidth for each requirement spec.

  7. WOW that ram usage never knew this game was a ram wh*re.

Hoping the game uses 12 cores easily with everything going on.

  8. Not only Win10, even if you had win10 it’s not going to work unless you have the latest update. +150gb, 50mbps connection, we are close for only on ssd… looks like this is the gen when i’m going to give up on new games, no matter how cool they looks.

  9. Ya……. think I’ll pass on games with expiration dates, much less games that require you to be tethered to Microsoft cancer. F*** Microsoft.

    1. The problem is that with my 1440p-144hz monitor, I use it very well with my RTX 2080 … even in my case a 2080Ti would be overkill …. for a 1080p monitor it is absolutely insane!
